This building does *not* deserve its current ratings. Most low reviews are either very old or are reviews about the parking coming from non-tenants. So hear me out!
I lived in the Broadway Building for more than a year now and my experience has been A👏MA👏ZING👏. Rent is well priced compared to other options in the neighbourhood and the units are just wonderful. My unit is on the 5th floor on the Broadway side, and sure it gets occasionally noisy during the summer but you get the best golden hour vibes and the most beautiful sunsets to enjoy from the balcony. It does get hot during the summer because of the west exposure tho, but I am planning on getting a portable AC this year and we should be all gucci. Having the link station around the bloc is such a game changer and if you are into buses, there are plenty of them too.
The best part about living here is the staff: I've had minor issues in my unit (light bulbs, food disposal, washing machine at some point) and the maintenance team showed up the *next or same day* to solve it EVERYTIME. Our Maintenance Supervisor Ernesto is the nicest person and he's an extremely reliable guy. There was a power outage at some point in Capitol Hill and Ernesto stayed very late in the building to make sure all tenants had everything they needed. I highly doubt you'd get that anywhere else. Our community manager Brittany was very accommodating when the time came to renew my lease and the latest joiner Melissa is very cheerful and polite. Always a pleasure to bump into them! We very often have community events ranging from happy hour hosted in bars/restaurants to seasonal events in the lobby or neighbourhood clean-ups. The events are great to get to know the team better or to just meet your neighbours. As long as my rent is not too expensy, I'd probably stick around here!
I've been living here for more than a year and it's been the best building I've ever lived in. There are always fun community events happening, as well as events with the other building. Our community manager Brittany is always friendly and very helpful in resolving any questions and concerns. Ernie and the maintenance crew are great. They recently upgraded my apartment and it's been great. They respond quickly and professionally whenever I've had to get something fixed or replaced. Definitely recommend. I hope to live here for years to come!
Wonderful, beautiful building. Neighborhood is busy, but that's the best part. Excellent management and staff! The building feels less corporate and more small neighborhood. Thy throw wonderful events. On site security certainly helps with safety. Lovely place to live! ❤️
Melissa was amazing! She came in on a Saturday since I couldn’t make any showings M-F. She was very informative about the building and the area. Even recommended some restaurants close by. Very excited about the prospect of living here.
Amazing staff and location. Melissa at the front desk is super friendly and helpful and makes everyone feel welcome. The maintenance guy, Ernesto, is just as amazing leading to a great staff at this building. Location is right in the heart of Capital Hill with a front entrance straight out to the park and a back entrance which leads to restaurants as well as 1 block away from all the bars and clubs.
Amazing ! Had issue with my washer dryer combo and they immediately ordered my new washer and dryer and was installed quickly. I appreciate Melissa, and the team for getting this done quickly.
I've lived in this building for over a year now and love my apartment. Really impressed by the maintenance team--my requests are always addressed very quickly, usually the next day. I have been helped by Ernie and Chris, who are both extremely friendly and meticulous in their work.

I moved into the Broadway Building during the first winter of COVID, from just down the street due to looking for an apartment with more storage and at a lower price point. The Broadway Building made my transition very smooth, even during such a tumultuous winter. One of the best things about the building has been the experience with maintenance - my requests are almost always addressed within one day, even requests such as replacing my garbage disposal. Ernie is the best maintenance guy I've ever had, friendly and always makes sure everything is working before he closes my case.
I love the gym at the building, it's small but has anything one can need from everything from training to climb a mountain, to getting physical therapy exercises complete. It even has televisions and a water station.
Over my time here, the management has only gotten better. From when I lost my key, and Brittany left me a new one, complete with a greeting card, to several fun community events. But the REAL over the top experience that has made me life long thankful to The Broadway Building, was when I was gone over the holiday break and Brittany found out that one of my new kittens was having a critical emergency. Since I was far away off the grid climbing, and his cat sitter didn't have time to bring him to the hospital right away, Brittany and Jasmine took it upon themselves to rescue my kitty from where he was trapped, and even went so far as to bring him to the vet for me. I truly felt like I had no one else to turn to in that moment, and I will be forever grateful that Brittany and Jasmine saved his life. If he hadn't gotten to the vet right away, he wouldn't have made it.
Now all three of us are safe and sound in our apartment, with a beautiful view of Rainier!
I love that both the building and parking garage have great security, and I always feel safe.
There is also a secure package room, and there have been various times I was unable to get a package due to being away from home, and management has offered to bring it up to my apartment.
The staff here is so kind and compassionate and always working to make living here a good experience! I have seen various efforts to proactively make the building a better experience, such as when I asked for better notice when elevators were reserved, and started receiving texts about elevator reservations.
I highly recommend the Broadway Building!
Besides the loud noise from the dodgeballers playing on the tennis courts of Cal Anderson, I love living at the Broadway Building. All the staff are really nice. Whenever I have any maintenance problems, it’s always fixed within hours. I noticed my sink was leaking on a late Friday afternoon, and Ernesto came in on a Sunday to fix it. What a nice surprise, and I really appreciated it!
I’ve really enjoyed living in this building for the last year! Management is always SO quick to respond to any issues we’re having and the staff is always so friendly to chat with. The price is good for the beautiful apartments and perfect location.
