This is a wonderful cafe! The food is excellent, and the folks that run it are wonderfully warm. It's a fun place to come and enjoy a cup of coffee, a scone, and the neighborhood!
Consistently perfect creamy espresso drinks, delicious homemade jams, pickles, pastries, cakes, marshmallows... they make almost everything themselves and meticulously screen/select the items they don't make. Even most of the decor has been designed and made by the owners. Warm and friendly employees, and the atmosphere inspires productivity and creativity. This place is coffeeshop heaven!
No wifi. Amazing baked goods. The quality of each ingredient in the food and coffee is obviously quite high. Only about 8 table seating areas, and all hard/stiff chairs or stools. Not too loungy or comfy, but the food is out of this world. And the music slaps 🎵
Finally I found another wonderful mocha nearby my place! I was not expected ham & jam biscuit could be that good too! I always love thick ham and dislike jam. Anyway I love their biscuit with thick ham and apple butter.
I revisited Preserve and Gather a few weeks ago. While dinning in is still not an option (and I'm cool with that), customers are now allowed to order inside. This means I can take a closer and better look at their pastries–great variety and baked in house! Their most popular Ham & Jam Breakfast Biscuit is indeed a delight–diced instead of sliced ham and jam instead of cheese give the classic breakfast sandwich an interesting texture and taste. There were also quite a few items that I have never seen elsewhere so I tried Tahini Panellet (loved it) and Leckerli (not a fan).
The latte I got was decent, like I remembered from last time. I had to double check the $4.23 price which already includes both tax and tip. Same for the pastries. That's gotta be the best coffee (and breakfast sandwich) one can have in Seattle for that price.
I am an avid fan of all things pastry and bread. I love this place and look forward to going there on a weekly basis. It's becoming a second generation affair as I am now introducing my son to their fantastic cookies and cakes.
I found this place highlighted in a blog recommending coffee shops in Seattle and finally found myself nearby so decided to stop in for a try. Honestly, I was not disappointed in anything other than the lack of seating. Which, let’s be honest, is a good sign since so many others like the place! And that’s the only reason for giving four stars.
We ordered a mocha & a latte w/cardamom and two ham & jam biscuits. The coffees were delicious, but the biscuits stole the show! A perfectly crispy outside & deliciously soft inside filled with sliced ham, cheese & apple butter. The menu had a lot of great options and the pastries looked great on display. If we lived closer, we would definitely visit frequently.
If you are local & can walk here- perfect! Lucky you! But if you are driving in, keep in mind that you’ll need to find parking in the adjacent neighborhood. The streets are tight and as a courtesy, do not block driveways, walkways or mailboxes for the neighbors.
Had a really great cortado and gluten free peanut butter cookie. The cookie was so moist and delicious, made without any flour at all. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, but cold metal chairs, not too comfortable. Street parking in a busy neighborhood which can be tricky at times. Will be back to taste more baked goods!
Very cute coffee shop. Perfect for a date. My wife's an Interior Designer and loves the layout and atmosphere. We each had scones, which were great. I had drip coffee which was good, and my wife had an iced latte which I only thought was ok.
