Starbucks

Shout out to the whole team at Westlake and Mercer Starbucks and particularly Ryan who went out of their way to be kind and spread some morning cheer on a cold, rainy morning when all the other diners were engulfed in their lives. It’s easy to take these kind of efforts from customer service folks for granted when we hustle about grumpy, thinking we are the only ones who hate waking up early and going to work. News flash, they show up every morning, insanely early, bright-eyed and ready to greet us frosty, self-important, hurried patrons with a smile and a “Welcome in!” regardless of how dismissive we are. And some, like Ryan, dig deeper and really try to connect and make us feel seen. As someone who has always worked in caring professions and customer service, I know what it takes, I SEE YOU, and I APPRECIATE YOU!!
