Randy's Restaurant & Ice Cream

This is the highest rated restaurant I've visited and they earned every star! I've learned that a lot of great restaurants are oddly in small strip malls ( usually anchored by a Safeway 🤣). Outside of the building is blank minus the Randy's sign. When you walk in,it's like walking into an episode of diners,drive-ins and dives. No stop hustle, restaurant is packed and the smells hit you. You also notice that you might have traveled back in time. 80s/90s colors,tones surround you. Teal tabletops, southwest mauve seating and medium ash wood throughout. Half of the crowd is senior citizens, so throw in some members only jackets,thick old school frames and vintage Levis....a blast from the past. Friday, Saturday and Sunday ( and dinner) wait times can be a while. We visited on a Wednesday,wait times were estimated up to 15 minutes. When we walked in we were seated within 15 seconds 🙌. The staff was moving, so interactions are brief. After 2 minutes our waitress stopped by for our drinks order and menus. 1 minute later she stopped by with the drinks and we gave her the order. Within 3 minutes our food was ready. THIS IS THE FASTEST MEAL SERVICE WE HAVE EVER HAD! 🤯🤯🤯 Today we both tried individual versions of the Randy's breakfast. For only $11 bucks you get a short stack, 2 eggs,2 strips of bacon and 2 sausage links. For $1 more you can upgrade to a waffle, grain cakes, french toast, blueberry, banana or chocolate chip cakes in place of short stack. Bacon was great, sausage was mild and eggs were tasty. The hash browns were soft on the inside and extra crispy on the outside. The French toast and short stack took me back to memories as a kid. This is a great old school restaurant. Reminder it's cash and check only,NO CARDS.

A great small business restaurant. Immediately greeted at the door and given your choice of table or booth. Service is attentive, happy personalities and quick. Servers Check back with you, topping off your drinks. Restaurant is very clean, Wide variety of music that "isn't blasting " all the while plenty of big TV screens. Great menu, food is always properly cooked (good size portions). Large selection of desserts. Seating area is big, large clean windows all around. Prices are cheap for any of the menu choices, and there are lots of choices. This place is easy to find, huge parking lot in a beautiful area. Guarantee once you try it, YOU WILL WANT TO COME BACK!!

I think this may be one of the best restaurant in Phoenix and possibly anywhere. Everything on the menu is amazing, almost everything is homemade and cooked fresh. They are still CASH ONLY in 2023 which is crazy, but prices are great so who cares. They have really good homemade pies too!

Heck yes! Loved finding this low key restaurant with very good food at an unbeatable price. The wait staff was so sweet and tentative as well. I got the hot mess burger but made it not spicy, and it was fantastic. My fiancé got the meatloaf which was also good. All came out to $25, which these days is rare to fill up on. Will definitely come back to try the breakfast and pot roast!

The home cooking spot of the area. There are plenty of regulars who have been going to Randy's for many years. for good basic food at a reasonable price. The servers are always great. The Downside is the cash only policy, but no big problem.
