Review Randy's Restaurant & Ice Cream - Scottsdale

Breakfasts are great here. Had the waffle one time I came here and it tasted great with the syrups. A few days later my family members brought home fresh cinnamon rolls for us all to eat, and I think they're the best ones I've ever tasted. Staff were very friendly and food came quickly. They took my food allergies seriously too.

This is the highest rated restaurant I've visited and they earned every star! I've learned that a lot of great restaurants are oddly in small strip malls ( usually anchored by a Safeway 🤣). Outside of the building is blank minus the Randy's sign. When you walk in,it's like walking into an episode of diners,drive-ins and dives. No stop hustle, restaurant is packed and the smells hit you. You also notice that you might have traveled back in time. 80s/90s colors,tones surround you. Teal tabletops, southwest mauve seating and medium ash wood throughout. Half of the crowd is senior citizens, so throw in some members only jackets,thick old school frames and vintage Levis....a blast from the past. Friday, Saturday and Sunday ( and dinner) wait times can be a while. We visited on a Wednesday,wait times were estimated up to 15 minutes. When we walked in we were seated within 15 seconds 🙌. The staff was moving, so interactions are brief. After 2 minutes our waitress stopped by for our drinks order and menus. 1 minute later she stopped by with the drinks and we gave her the order. Within 3 minutes our food was ready. THIS IS THE FASTEST MEAL SERVICE WE HAVE EVER HAD! 🤯🤯🤯 Today we both tried individual versions of the Randy's breakfast. For only $11 bucks you get a short stack, 2 eggs,2 strips of bacon and 2 sausage links. For $1 more you can upgrade to a waffle, grain cakes, french toast, blueberry, banana or chocolate chip cakes in place of short stack. Bacon was great, sausage was mild and eggs were tasty. The hash browns were soft on the inside and extra crispy on the outside. The French toast and short stack took me back to memories as a kid. This is a great old school restaurant. Reminder it's cash and check only,NO CARDS.

We had great service and I had the best dessert 🍨 of my life! This gorgeous picture 📸 is a grasshopper topped with an Andes mint chocolate! I'll be dreaming about this forever now! Very homey with great food!! 👍🏽

A great small business restaurant. Immediately greeted at the door and given your choice of table or booth. Service is attentive, happy personalities and quick. Servers Check back with you, topping off your drinks. Restaurant is very clean, Wide variety of music that "isn't blasting " all the while plenty of big TV screens. Great menu, food is always properly cooked (good size portions). Large selection of desserts. Seating area is big, large clean windows all around. Prices are cheap for any of the menu choices, and there are lots of choices. This place is easy to find, huge parking lot in a beautiful area. Guarantee once you try it, YOU WILL WANT TO COME BACK!!

Such a great and fun place to visit if you're in the Scottsdale area. The staff, especially Tara and Esther Ann are simply amazing. They make your dining experience a fun time. The food is always made fresh and hot. The best part for me being a big guy is the portion sizes. In these times, it's good to see places still given you quality sizes. So, if you're interested in a fun atmosphere and quality service. Or, even a date night or morning place, I highly recommend Randy's. I think this may be one of the best restaurant in Phoenix and possibly anywhere. Everything on the menu is amazing, almost everything is homemade and cooked fresh. They are still CASH ONLY in 2023 which is crazy, but prices are great so who cares. They have really good homemade pies too!

Whether it is for breakfast, lunch or dinner, Randy's always delivers good food, great dessert and great service for a really good price. They are very fast in delivering your food after you order; sit down service with fast delivery! And, the food is homestyle good! I go there as often as I can.

Heck yes! Loved finding this low key restaurant with very good food at an unbeatable price. The wait staff was so sweet and tentative as well. I got the hot mess burger but made it not spicy, and it was fantastic. My fiancé got the meatloaf which was also good. All came out to $25, which these days is rare to fill up on. Will definitely come back to try the breakfast and pot roast!

They were pretty busy but were able to seat us immediately. Their service was fast and friendly. The food was great and definitely filled us all up! Fed four of us for $55

The home cooking spot of the area. There are plenty of regulars who have been going to Randy's for many years. for good basic food at a reasonable price. The servers are always great. The Downside is the cash only policy, but no big problem.

I liked the ambiance of this restaurant, the staff was quite pleasant and friendly, the food was good, had blueberry pancakes with hash browns, sausages, bacon, and eggs over medium, the eggs were very runny and not to my liking, but ate them anyway because my time was short because I had to go to work. Would I return... Absolutely, for as busy as Randy's was it isn't a disappointment.

Great food service and prices. This is that restaurant you remember from childhood (small town childhood) The food is homemade and always good. Our server Laura was incredible. She made us feel valued and comfortable. We can't wait to bring our relatives from Nebraska

We live in Glendale now, but my husband and I have a 31+ year history with Randy's, and we continue to stop by here every chance we get - REAL Comfort food at its Best! (ps -- always order Randy's potatoes vs. hashbrowns) Love you guys!!

I love coming to Randy's whenever I'm in town. I love the atmosphere and the food is delicious. I like sitting outside in the patio for the ultimate dining experience. 😋 💕

First of all, Randy’s is an “all cash” establishment. Credit or debit cards are not accepted. Fortunately, I had cash, but I am stunned that any business of any kind can exist without taking credit cards in this day and age. They have a small sign next to the door that indicates cash only, but they could really use a larger sign directly on the front door that you can see before you come into the restaurant. (According to other reviewers, apparently there is an ATM machine there). Also, if you’re under 40, and/or consider yourself part of the “hipster”crowd, then this place might not be for you. It serves traditional food at good prices, and has a friendly staff. Yes, their clientele is a little older, but the patrons seem to appreciate what Randy’s has to offer. The food is fairly priced, you get a good value for your dollar, and the staff is very friendly, helpful, and attentive. I would definitely visit Randy’s again next time I’m in Scottsdale.

Can’t go wrong with any meal here. Never had something I didn’t like. Even if I order to go they do a great job. Friendly staff. Just remember to bring cash.

Good old fashioned American restaurant. Decent food & their 80’s/90’s decor was like traveling back in time, which I really enjoyed. Note, accepted form of payment is cash or check only.

Randy really outdid himself here. Service was great, BLTs were fantastic, fries were rather crispy which was a nice change of pace although not entirely to my liking. Food came out very fast too which was surprising considering how busy it was.
