The BEST shrimp and grits we've tried so far! I had fireworks in my mind with each bite and took tiny bites so that it lasted longer. We tried the lamb burger as well and it was really good. Service was amazing and the place feels cozy and nice.

Excellent Choice 💯 Navigating the reviews of a touristy town can be challenging, as they are often inflated. However, this place did NOT disappoint ⏪🫡 The service was great, the drinks were delicious, and most importantly we were blown away by the food. 🤤 The Shrimp'n Grits are legit - Definitely worth a visit 👍 One of the best places we visited for dinner in Savannah 🍽️

My husband and I decided to have our last dinner in Savannah at the Public Kitchen & Bar. I followed the advice of many past reviewers and ordered the shrimp & grits. I am glad I did because it was one of the best meals I have ever had! The flavor is outstanding. My husband had the jambalaya and enjoyed it immensely. The pecan pie for dessert is a MUST. It was absolutely delicious. To top it off, our server, Shawna, was wonderful. Very attentive, and very friendly. I wish I could bring this place home with me to Michigan!

We really enjoyed eating here. The kids had spaghetti & meatballs (they loved them. They are lightly sauced), I had shrimp & grits (very good. Very different from any I have had. The chorizo makes it slightly spicy. Enough that I wouldn’t want to drink a carbonated drink with it) but it had lots of shrimp and was good. Aunt had the bbq and loved it. Hubs had the shrimp faux boy. He thought it was good also and loved the pasta salad.

This photo does no justice. The shrimp and grits came highly recommended and looks absolutely amazing in person. I stopped by on a Saturday about 45 mins after they opened and there was about a 15-20 minute wait for parties of 2. I was by myself that night so I was able to grab a seat at the bar right away. Service was just absolutely amazing. Super friendly and nice. I struck up a conversation with the lady next to me and enjoyed every bite of my meal. Savannah is filled with nothing but such friendly people. I’ll be going back for sure.

Small pub at W Liberty Str. in a quite modern ambiente. A number of tables were outside along the street. Food is overall quite ok, the quality seems to vary. Bottom line we would rather not recommend to visit the Public Kitchen, unless you go for the Savannah Shrimp, as we feel there are better restaurants in Savannah. The Savannah Shrimp and Grits (24$) was excellent, whereas the Wedge Salad and the House Steak Burger (18$) were below average. I don't know why anyone would want to mix pasta into a burger, it certainly does not help to make it tastier. The burger was mostly cold, too, only the meat was luke warm. Several draft beers are available (7$). Service was not one of their strengths either, our waitress was far from being friendly. We assigned 4 asterisks only due to the excellent Savannah Shrimp & Grits dish.

Perhaps one of our best meals in Savannah! Our caprese salad was a tasty, light way to start the night before we got to the real stars - the entrees. The salmon was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. My friend was so happy with it and noted the vegetables and garlic potatoes were great too. The coconut curry has a slight spice to it that’s a bit delayed, but it was a good spice that added flavor rather than just adding heat. It was the perfect way to load up on vegetables after a weekend of southern cooking. Our drinks (herbal remedy and peach blossom) weren’t our favorites; they were both pretty sweet and the herbal remedy was a bit too heavy on the lime. The wine selection was stellar so that’s probably what I’ll get next time I go.

I enjoyed my stay. The food was very delicious. The only issue I addressed with my waitress (Ashley), was that I didn't like that fact that she offered all the tables around me water, except my table. She showed great concern and apologized. Other than that, I would recommend this establishment and try it again.

We stopped here after hopping off a tour bus after the need for food overwhelmed us, after skipping breakfast. Our expectations were low. Surprisingly, this restaurant was amazing. I shared the salmon along with a Caesar salad with another family member. The salad had olives, which is unusual for Caesar. It also had an additional flavor which I couldn't place which really made it unique and very tasty. I would be very happy ordering a full size salad from there. The salmon we had cooked medium well, and it was perfect. Tender in the center and crispy on the outside. It was served with a mustard sauce as well as asparagus and mashed potatoes. The mustard sauce was exquisite and didn't overwhelm the salmon. It simply added wonderful flavor to the entire dish. The mashed potatoes were chunky and also excellent as was the asparagus which was firm but cooked. I also tasted the hummus pita. It appeared to be a pesto based hummus. It really was a wonderful combination. Sometimes the pesto or the hummus is too strong. Not in this case. Add that with a few veggies inside the pita and some tzatziki sauce, I think, and you have a wonderful, flavorful pita sandwich. I didn't eat the grilled cheese, but somebody else at our table did and they really enjoyed it. I can testify that the fries it was served with were excellent. I highly recommend everyone give this place a try.

Best food experience I had in Savannah this round! If you are only going to have shrimp and grits at one place in Savannah, this should be it! It was a unique presentation with great flavor, what more do you want in a shrimp and grits? I loved that the grits were in the middle and not mixed in, then you could have as little or as much grit in each bite. The sausage was a fantastic addition as well! I loved the goat cheese bake with marinara to start off the meal, also a unique plate with great flavors. For a drink I had a pomegranate sour that I don't see on the menu any longer. The restaurant itself is that great Savannah design of modern, minimal, yet historic and the perfect lighting to give you that intimate cozy vibe, in from Savannah in March weather. They don't take reservations but I went on a Sunday night around and only had to wait a half hour, just enough time to get a nice cocktail in the super cozy Edgar's Proof and Provision.
