It’s a nice Italian restaurant.
The articiofi salad ($32) and the lobster pasta ($52) were delicious.
Plate are a little too small and prices are high.
Atmosphere is ok, like an old but good restaurant.
Service was courteous.
I treated myself before work to dinner - soup to dessert and two glasses of wine. The candles, the small size, warm
Lighting, even the waiters yelling passionately in Italian all lent to my amazing experience. I usually hate when people speak loudly indoors but this was very charming. I just bought $400 in gift cards bc I want those I care about to experience this delicious slice of Italy. Go! And savor every bite. Excellent service too.
Was searching for Italian restaurants in Santa Monica and saw this had so many raving reviews so decided to try it.
This place was originally a $$ on Google reviews. When we got there it was definitely a $$$. The prices are very steep and you don’t get enough food for the price.
The trio of ravioli as a starter is a good choice if you’re indecisive and really want to try a little of everything. The butternut squash was the best of the three.
Also ordered a filet mignon. It doesn’t come with a side so be prepared to fork out a little more to add some mediocre potatoes as a side dish. I ordered the filet medium rare but it came out medium - medium/well. I hate sending food back but if I’m paying so much for a steak then I need it cooked correctly. When it returned it was more rare than medium rare. I didn’t want to complain so I ate it.
The server was very attentive and quite knowledgeable when it came to wine.
Very nut friendly establishment except for dessert.
A very romantic candlelight dinner experience, but you're definitely paying for it. Bolognese, Vongole, tiramisu totaled around $95 after tax and tip. Opener was bread, olive oil, and olives that were a nice palette cleanser. The Bolognese fettuccine was fantastic, perfectly cooked and paired with a flavorful meat sauce. The Vongole had a decent amount of clams (maybe 15-20 pieces) and paired well with the light olive oil. Portions were generally on the smaller side - enough for maybe 4-5 bites per person for 2. Service was polite to a point. However, preference was being given to the table next to ours that was ordering multiple courses, wine, and expensive dishes. It seemed that after we refused the wine menu, we were put on the backburner. Almost no one looked our way for water refills or an extra utensil.
Great service and food
Servers very knowledgeable
Very Italian
Wow, this place is great! Save for the prices, I have nothing negative to say here, only positive. The service was top-notch, the table setting was splendid, the food was superb and the atmosphere was very romantic.
The marinara with meatball appetizer was probably the best I've had, do try that if you get the chance.
The only warning is to be ready for the prices!
My all-time favorite restaurant, always keeps me coming back! Must ask for the ravioli tasting!
These guys know how to do pasta, wow.
Very well cooked food, perfectly presented and tasty too.
Outstanding wine cellar!
Great service and really nice setting both inside and outside eating!
Excellent food and service! I love the fact that they really pay attention to thier ingredients. They source local and organic meats and produce. I also appreciated how welcoming and courteous they made us feel!
One of the most fabulous meals I ever had in Santa Monica. Perfect pasta, soft shell crabs from heaven and a wine choice from our server, that set new heights in the white wine realm. Kudos Via Veneto.
