Great flavors, not traditional flavors but for those who like new things, this is the place! I got the Basil and Raspberry on a housemade waffle cone and loved every bite. Staff is very friendly. My little one dropped hers on the table after one lick and they gave her a new one!

The flavors are unique and have a pleasant depth of flavor. The staff are friendly and there is always a line. But it is so worth the wait!

My urge to have some ice cream and my wife's craving for Marsh mellow made us end up at this place. The place was cozy and the staff was very friendly and comforting. They made it very easy for us to select exactly what we wanted. We both ended up with the burnt Marsh Mello topping which is definitely my recommendation for the toppings. The ice cream was of great quality and we both enjoyed our flavors.

DEFINITELY get the marshmallow fluff!! The Penny Ice Creamery always has a handful of interesting new flavors and they are pretty much always excellent. Friendly staff too. Huge plus, it's open late! I have to go here every time I visit Santa Cruz.

Such a delight! I had the Tahitian Vanilla Bean with toasted marshmallow fluff — what an experience! Very friendly staff and excellent quality ice cream. A bit on the sugary/very sweet side, but it’s ice cream 😜🍦

Wonderful flavors, home-made ice cream with a definite dairy taste. The ice cream is over the top sweet. Less sugar would help the flavor come out more and help the ice cream go down. Just too much sugar.

Amazing homemade best in the area. Try with toasted marshmallows. Wny Penny Ice-cream? They used to sell ice cream for pennies long time ago.

This is the best vanilla ice cream I have ever had. I know it is basic but there is something so buttery good about the Tahini Vanilla Bean flavor. Some people may not like their more experimental flavors so I would stick to the vanilla. The marshmellow fluff is popular here for the pictures but I feel like it didn't add much to the icecream so I could go without it.
