Awesome food! The sandwich was fresh and yummy. You have to try their fresh potato chips. Amazing! Good flavors all around. Saratoga is good, but the Almaden Store is outrageous. You won't be disappointed.

I wasn't paying attention the first time I walked in, I was thinking it was a pizza place. "Nope", the guy behind the counter said, adding, "we make the best cheese steak sandwiches". I lived in Philly for a few years, and I know my way around a good steak sandwich, so I said, "Sure, 'one, whiz, with'". I got a funny look, and then the guy handed me a menu. OK, I thought to myself, I'm in Northern California after all, and I can't expect them to know what that means. So, I looked at the menu, and thought the prices were a bit high, and then I saw the cook working the grill. He knew what he was doing, so I ordered a half cheese steak sandwich, with "the works". It took a while, they don't rush, but they sure don't disappoint either. The sandwich tasted great. It's a nice touch that they have jars of peppers on the counter for customers to help themselves, just like back in Roxborough.

The Works cheesesteak is everything I hoped for. Generous portions, chewy bread, this was a forking sandwich. I barely completed the challenge with 4 mins to spare (24 in “the works” in 1 hour). It’s a bit out of the way, but worth finding. Yeah, I’ll be coming back.
I so wanted to give this a 5 for the second time for the quality of the food, but whoever was at the front counter was rude af, and did not embody the vibe I received last time from a family friendly establishment. Please check your front counter staff. I would 100% recommend for the food, but would never want to deal with the person at the counter. Hope you don't get her, because the food is great. Note, I did not deal with the same people as last time. They were amazing. This person needs an attitude check, or should be let go.
If you're craving philly cheese steak, you should definitely swing by! The portions are huge, so I would recommend sharing one.

The best cheese steaks in San Jose. Ask for the Death Basket if you're hungry enough for three people. I don't know how they do it but their French fries get better every year
