In town on business, decided to try a new Indian place. Had the chicken Korma and saag paneer. The service was excellent and the dishes were super tasty. They use organic chicken and there was just the right amount of spice. Garlic naan was flavorful crispy and light. Will be craving this place now. There is no Indian food in San Diego like this.
We’ve ordered takeout from here at least 50 times, and it has always been perfect. Great service, hot food, and extremely affordable especially for the Bay.
Food was really good and service was quick and efficient. They have take out or outdoor dining. I got my food to go, great portions, will come back. My favorite was the garlic Nan, the other things I got were paneer tikka masala and jeera rice.
Great Indian food, the flavors are amazing. I’ve been coming here for years so my review is overdue. I’ve had the Tikka Masala, Korma, Vindaloo. Aloo Gobi. Sag Paneer. Great price point.
It is an unexpected place for a very delicious Indian food. It is time to say goodbye to two of my favorite places: Amber, and Kabob and Curry. Swaad is like a mom and pop place with authentic Indian food. I had a veggie Samosa as an appetizer and it was so delicious. We ordered a chicken tikka masala, dahl, paneer tikka masala, and tandoori chicken. I was overwhelmed by the flavors and spices. It gave me a good kick in the mouth of a real authentic Indian food. Thanks Swaad for serving us amazing dishes. We can't wait to come back to try other dishes. On the way home my family talked how amazing the food was and when are we coming back there. Also we need to invite friends to check out this place. Five stars for the foods and five stars for the super friendly waitress who served our table well and has a very good memory.
Everything at Swaad is tasty. The most surprising and delicious was the chicken samosas. It's not greasy or over fried. You can't go wrong with these: chicken tikka masala, garlic chicken tandoori, garlic naan, lamb biryani, and vegetable korma. The service is great. It's a small restaurant with an elegant environment.
Wish I could sit inside and eat, but we can't so, just know - the food is amazing and its even amazing for "Take Out" -- oh and make sure to get a Mango Lassi!!! 5 stars all around (CONSISTENTLY DELICIOUS EVERY TIME)
No frills Indian food gem in the heart of DTSJ. The mint chicken dish, garlic naan, masala dishes, and saag paneer are never disappointing.
Great food! Not the cheapest but the cozy setting and good service make up for that. Portion sizes are decently large too. I will definitely be back.
Pictures: paneer pakora, okra lamb, and veg korma.
The food is delicious here. I had Malai Kofta and their garlic Naan was perfect, warm, slightly crisp with some charring and lots of flavor. I loved how the naan was thinner soft and not so doughy.
The kofta was soft, flavorful and sauce rich and silky. The pakora and chutneys crunchy and not greasy. The ambience was unique in that it’s in this neighborhood that has character, not too sketchy and not sterile, some of the bungalow homes look like they were painted and nice blooms in their front yard. There is a neighborhood park across the street. It was an interesting neighborhood with an urban charm. The service was super attentive. I want to go back for dinner. I can’t wait to go back.
