Nizario's Pizza

Great place. I hadn't been in here for a while as I wasn't crazy about the atmosphere. But they recently did a remodel and the place looks great. You can really tell it's an old school pizzeria, it says since 1980 something. Pizza is late night by the slice, and service is decent. They have to deal with a ton of people at the end of the night, so they want to make the process as seamless as possible. I like the remodel. Pizza is one of the better choices in the Castro.

Pizza is decent, service is terrible. They serve New York style pizza that is heated to order. Prices are average. You can't make changes to your pizza, you have to pay for sauce, drinks are over priced, and no bathroom. If your drunk its good, if not go elsewhere. I prefer Marcello's down the block.

The skinny guy at the counter only heat your pizza slice well if you give them a tip otherwise you will get half done heated pizza I experienced this twice . I posted this review when I was eating there I dont want to reveal my identity so the next time I visit I get more worse service by your staff I really like your pizza but since you guys being owner and cannot afford to sit there all time then we Customers have to bear the poor service by your staff. Since there is no option to reply back on your comment so am just editing my review again

One of the great by the slice places in the Castro. It's on 18th St. The entrance is small so you could miss it if you're not careful (or intoxicated :) ) Pro Tip: Always ask what's the next pie coming out. And then order a slice from that pie. I really like being able to see what pizzas they have ready and then getting a quick slice. Sometimes the music's a little too loud, but hey, I guess that's how they keep the employees energized. Pizza's a little thinner than the other nizario's, but it's still good.

This hole in the wall is close to the bars and is busy thru out weekend nights. The pizza is ok. Not worth the price but when ur buzzed it's ok. The pizza is limp, not firm. If u ask them for well done crust they act like ur asking for the impossible. So much attitude. Unless I can't find anything else, I'll go back.

It is a frequent choice for a late nite meal especially after a late night in or around Castro. There aren't a lot of choices when the bars close and Orphan Andy's is usually packed with a ridiculous wait, so Nizario's has a niche and fits it well. Cheap, fast, and filling, they get the job done. The staff is pleasantly amusing. No thrills no frills pizza when you can't find anything else to eat.
