Best sangria I've ever had!. I'm long overdue in writing this review. My husband and I ate here on our trip to SF in October 2013.
We discovered this place totally by accident, just walking along Mission Street late one night when many other places were closed. We loved this restaurant!
The food was excellent, fresh, hot and delicious, the service was very friendly and attentive even though they were quite busy, and the prices were surprisingly inexpensive.
But what I remember most about this place is the sangria. They have ruined me for sangria. I've had sangria a dozen times since then (4 more times on our trip!), and nothing compares. It was the best sangria I have ever had. I think they puree fruit and add it to the sangria or something; it is just so flavorful.
Good food. Apparently Salvadorean, though I didn't try any. Open late, takes cards, plenty of street parking for my motorcycle. In a word, excellent.
I placed a large order (5 dozen pupusas) They had my order hot and ready at the time promised and even helped me bring the trays to my car. Very polite staff. The pupusas, Curtis and salsa were delicious. The salsa jas the perfect spicy level. I will definitely be ordering take out again!
I am glad that Los Panchos has survived the pandemic. They close a bit earlier than usual (9pm) but they continue to make delicious food. The employees are also very nice people and they remember their regulars. I recommend their pupusas, carne Asada plates, and nachos. Family friendly! A mission district respected restaurant.
Salvadoreño local here-- food was absolutely bomb, and at a fair price given the serving sizes and sides. Wasn't too loud or crowded either, and the waitstaff were full of hospitality.
It took a little bit to get our food out but like they say, Rome wasn't built in a day... Would highly recommend checking this place out! :)
Really good Papusas! The last page of the menu is all Spanish and seems to be where the best value items are. Chips and Salsa for $1.25 and $5 papusas, we had a variety of vegetarian ones and they were fantastic!
Not always the nicest people (as far as service) but this was a favorite place for my brother to seek late night food and refuge. Hes taken me here several times and now I make my way there everytime I drive into the city. Hungry or not. I take my kids so they can enjoy the culture as well. We are part Salvadoran and this is one food I dont make at home for them. Pupusas. They are better here than the places in my city
Very tasty Salvadorian comfort food. The pupusas were excellent and filling. Very homey and just what we needed after a day of work, travel & night out in SF. Friendly, homey service. Highly recommend!
Los Panchos is great. Staff are wonderful even when it is very busy. Awesome late night spot. Pollo Encebollado is my go to but I typically never buy just one dish caldos are wonderful, pupusas,
