Affordable prices. I will come back and try egg tarts + pork bun here. Cozy place elders. You can sit inside and play Chinese chess. Multiple choice for cakes. Friendly staffs

The egg tarts were SO GOOD! I bought two, one for me and one for my boyfriend…but I ate both myself ;) Tip: come early! I came here around 1pm on a Saturday and almost everything was gone. Luckily I got the egg tarts.

My go to for baked bbq pork buns and egg custard tarts. Their other items are pretty good also, but the pork buns and custard tarts are awesome. The clerks are always friendly to me, even when there's the usual line.

10-26-21: Got a few custard tarts and BBQ pork buns to go. The custard tarts were very tasty. Lots of filling and flaky crust! The pork buns were good with a generous amount of filling. I found something a little different in the dough. Maybe some coconut flavor?!? Couldn't pinpoint the exact ingredient. Not sure if I liked the coconut.

Anytime I’m in the area I always stop by for city’s best bbq pork buns! The egg tarts are pretty good too, along with the fantastic curry puffs, sponge puffy bread, and red bean pineapple buns!

Don't let this outpost location keep you away from Lung Fung Bakery. So many tasty treats. We arrived just as a fresh batch of hot and delicious pork buns were out of the oven. The curry turnovers, the ever so fluffy sponge cakes are also big hits. I went all in on my tasting tour with my nose, eyes and taste buds. The ham and corn bun...delicious, the green onions bun fabulous. The price are very affordable.

Came here after hiking at the Marin Headlands. Since I was in the area, I decided to pass by and get some Chinese baked goods. And I'm glad I did. There were many choices and all of them looked equally appetizing. Decided to order the essentials - bbq pork bun, hotdog bun, spam and egg bun, curry bun and, of course, egg custard. I had to wait for about 10 minutes because they were out of the custards. The wait made it sooo difficult not to start eating the bbq pork bun. It was warm and pillowy-soft and the bbq pork had the right amount of sweetness to it. It. Was. Good. The egg custard came out of the oven flaky and warm and satisfying. The prices were very reasonable IMO. Plus, parking wasn't difficult at all. (P.S.: I'm writing this review in the car while I'm eating the bun and custard. Lol.) My only negative comment - no pink boxes.

Best cha siu baos around ... the dough isn't too doughy and the inside has the perfect ratio of gravy to cha siu. Most of the time we get it, not too many fast pieces we have to spit out. This has been our favorite for several years. The Don tats are very good. The price point is way better than Chinatown. I would definitely come here is I needed don tats n baos.

Hands down the best char siu bun, onion bun and egg tart! They keep it warm behind the counter so all was really fresh, plus not much of a line as GLD or Mong Kok, def worth a visit! edit: they are starting to put fat in the bun's meat..

Hidden gem, always fresh, best Danta, beats Chinatown famous places, hands down! Ladies are nice, items come from right off the baking pans in the back. And looks like many have won lotteries here!

Epic pork buns, great filling (not too much of those fatty filler bits), price is quite good! Not to be missed: cocktail buns and egg tarts!

A hole in wall Chinese bakery with excellent baked Char-Siu Bao (Baked BBQ Pork Bun). The bun is soft and chewy, the eggwash is sugary and adds a crunchy texture to the bun! Plus, the filling is savory, not filled with fillers (fat pieces, tendons), and juicy. All for just $1.30 per bun, a great deal! I went there at 2:30p on a weekday to find that a batch was freshly baked. If you got the time, choose to dine-in with the buns instead of walking out with it. The register lady will give you a fresh one!

One of my go-to bakeries when I want to pick up breakfast before a hike up north pass the Golden Gate Bridge. BBQ pork bun for savory and egg tarts for sweets. The pork in the buns are so juicy and flavorful while the egg tarts come hand in hand with the Golden Gate Bakery. Check it out but don't forget to bring cash!

Holw in the wall Chinese bakery in the Richmond district of SF. Best known for bbq buns and egg tarts among other classic Chinese baked goods.

Get the BBQ pork buns! A steamed version would be great. Good sauce, good amount of meat, soft bun. Egg tarts were flaky and large but that means a lot of custard making the ratio of custard to egg a bit off from what I'm used to. Pineapple custard bun had thick pineapple crust and was a bit hard. The custard had good flavor, not too sweet. The sponge cake had a nice spongy texture but was bland for me.

The best puff pastry crust egg tarts you can find in San Francisco! They taste just as good if not better than Golden Gate bakery's. No lines, small local bakery in the Richmond district of SF. If you don't see them in the display, just ask if they have any more egg tarts. 9 times out of 10, they have more in the back cooling. If none, the nice lady will ask how many you want and they bake more (I usually order a dozen) & you just either wait or come back in 30 - 45 minutes.

Come here once in a blue moon. Prices has risen since the last time I was here. I usually buy the pork buns $1.60, cocktail bun $1.10, curry puff $2.50, ham and cheese, and hot dog bun. Food is average here and its good food on the go.

THE best baked char siu bao. I only wish it hadn't taken me years to set foot in this nondescript bakery. We have so many in the Richmond District, it's hard to go wrong as each has it's highlights and almost all the same options. You would be remiss not to veer slightly further down Clement. Other highlights: the pineapple custard buns, egg tarts, green onion buns, heck you name it and you can even pick up some lottery tickets!

Small mom and pop chinese bakery. Close to my dentist so i stopped by. Got some regular char siu bun, pineapple char siu bun, hotdog bun, ham/corn and egg tarts. The regular char siu was really yummy. I usually like the pineapple bun style more but here the regular one is what I recommend. My second fave is the ham and corn, next pineapple char siu and lastly the hotdog bun. Hotdog bun was only ok but still good. I recommend eating yhe egg tarts fresh. Worth visiting and recommended

Servant: My Lord, what was it the barbarian said, as the riders vanished?Master LI: Omnia mutantur, nihil interit. Everything changes, but nothing is truly lost.
Neil Gaiman – The Sandman

These streets were old when I was young and first walked upon them. Streets here had such cool names. We walked to Fulton St or Clement St depending on what bus we needed to take. My mom flew my brother and I up to visit our aunt during winter break. So cold. I had never been so cold before and I got sick. Living in San Diego I had never been exposed to temperature extremes before. Still the vacation was awesome. There were awesome sights to see such as the Golden Gate Park and Seal Rocks and delicious Chinese food to eat. Better than any found in San Diego.

Went to this spot after trying the much-lauded Golden Gate Bakery first. Golden Gate was shut for vacation, hence the trek to this place. Rather disappointing. The curry buns had very little curry and beef filling. The egg custards were best thing here and still they were merely okay. The coconut buns were okay, as were the onion buns. Everything was freshly baked, but mediocre tasting. While the prices are cheap and I'm sure good eats when you're drunk, I'd rather pay more for good quality. Not worth the calories...for me anyway...

Cheap!. BBBQ Pork Buns- $.90 each. Yummy.
Egg Custard Tarts fresh out the oven- $.70 each.
Pineapple Buns- $.50 each.

I got there around noon on a weekday afternoon and parking was easy and there was only one other person in the bakery. I had to wait 10 minutes to get the egg tarts, but that was no problem since they were fresh out of the oven. The young man behind the counter was very nice and even knocked off $.20 to make my order an even $9. $9 for (6) BBQ pork buns, (4) egg tarts, and (2) pineapple buns. Awesome. The BBQ pork buns are filled more than I like, but some like more. The pineapple buns were warm and chewy good. The tarts were fresh, and pleasantly flaky!
