This is that type of 10/10 hole in the wall restaurant. It’s not in the best neighborhood, but the quality of the food is much better than most established middle eastern restaurants, and you can tell the food is made with love. Plus, Yemeni cuisine is also super unique compare to other middle eastern food! I encourage everybody to give it a try!
Fantastic hole in the wall spot. Humble and delicious. The man goes out of his way to make this little shop a great dining experience. Roasted lamb was flavourful and incredibly tender, almost like butter. Rice was fragrant and flavorful. Fava beans were a standout, especially accompanied by the Yemeni bread. Definitely not to be missed!
This place is such a hidden gem and deserves more recognition!
The roasted lamb dish is a MUST TRY. Every piece was succulent and flavorful, and I loved that it came with pita bread, a spicy sauce, rice, salad, and a veggie stew. I will for sure return to try the lamb soup!
Food was very good. If you haven't had Yemeni food, it's time to give it a try. Different from other Middle Eastern restaurants. Tawa bread is amazing. Lots of meat dishes. Big platters of rice and chicken lamb or beef. Beef stew called Saltah. Seating for about 8 people, also good for carryout. Not great for vegan or gluten free dishes. Online ordering options seem to have more vegetarian choices.
Stopped in for a quick lunch and was graced by the tender bliss that is chicken kabsah. The intensity of spice was enough to leave me both surprised and humored. Will recommend to a friend. 👌 And will be back to try the baklava. 😋
Perfectly cooked delicious food.
It might not be noticeable and it lies in a weird neighborhood with too many homeless and junkies around, but the owner made sure no one of them entered and definitely very delicious well cooked food.
I'd definitely love to eat their again
I would give 10 stars if I could! This humble little place is rich in flavor and hospitality. Servings are generous. The person at the front desk was welcoming and friendly, and fun to talk to. I’m vegetarian, but my partner ordered the roast lamb (they definitely recommend it) which came with the most delicious vegetables ever! I also had the yemeni bread with a kind of salsa/cilantro pico de gallo sauce, which was yummy. And the chai was bomb! Highly recommend taking a detour to this hidden gem!
One of my favorite spots in SF. Excellent traditional food and prices, especially for lunch time before 3pm. We usually get one roasted lamb dish which is enough for two people. Also the Chai is made to order, and still only $2.
Hope they get to expand one day and bring their dishes to a wider audience.

I went for walk in search of middle eastern food and found this place and was surprised with this hole in wall place.
The restaurant is very small and not a sit down restaurant kinda place and more like Togo place but have to tell the food here is really tasty.
I was really surprised with the taste and quality of food, will definitely come back to this place.
Highly recommend the saltah!
The person who was serving was also really nice :-)
The food here is delicious, like home cooked. The service is amazing! Uber eats messed up my order, so the owner delivered the correct food to me across town. My favorites are half chicken, which is thigh and leg, and hummus. The masoob is incredible. The portions are large for the price.
