Met Jay and his food was not a disappointment. I don't even like onions in my sandwiches but I ordered the SF Giant cheese steak with what goes in it except Mayo altho I look like I love me some mayo but I substitute it with mustard (my fav) ordered the Hungover cheese steak, seasoned fries and their fried mushrooms, zucchini, mozzarella and sub the jalapeno poppers for seasoned fries which everything was so full of flavors that we tore it up. I even went as far and ordered a roast beef sandwich and pastrami burger to go. That was yummaaaay. Jay was great, friendly and a humble person... just seeing how he interacts with his customers is a great thing to see, you don't see that these days. We plan to visit again and try his other sandwiches on the menu.

What a great local cheesesteak shop in the mission everything I ordered was phenomenal original Philly cheesesteak with a side of onion rings and garlic fries. They're garlic Fries were definitely bomb definitely a place I would visit in the future

Best cheesesteak in town! I am a loyal customer here. I notice that they are using a different bread in the past year or so. Turns out the supplier went out of business. The owner tried 20 other breads to find this current one! Not the same still, but I respect the fact that they care for the quality and take it seriously. Still the best in town :)

So good!!! Teriyaki cheese steak was my favorite. But we got original, jalapeno and city cheese steak. Also got chicken strips. Everything was fresh and delicious 😋 I will be visiting there again.

10/10 on the chicken hoagie. The sweat potato fries and waffle fries had my partner and I scarfing them down. SOOO GOOD!

Food is good, they don't seem to pay attention to much. We order 3 sandwiches and 6 stripes and 2 drinks = $79!! I think that's too much for lunch.

Building artwork is awesome. The people working and delivering food are polite and hilarious. Had to wait about 40 minutes for our cheesesteaks, but that's not a complaint. This place is that good. Will I be back? Absolutely.

Jay’s cheesesteaks are HUGE and chock-full of goodness. I get the seitan one (since I no longer eat meat) & it totally scratches that itch. Get the fried pickles! KILLER!!!

Yo jays is the best cheese steak shop in all of San Francisco hands down. I like to eat and when I want a cheese steak jays is the only place I go. I drove from The east bay back to the city to get 1 cause anywhere else is just not comparable.

There are TWO things that you do not do in life. And that is, putting Mayo on Cheesesteak or Pastrami. I had your Big SF ,that has both meats on it. My ONLY request that I had was, "No mayo." And even though I liked the bread used, it was ruined, as the mayo bled through the crust. I would have given it back, but that would have embarrassed my friends, so I scrapped it off and had to have that terrible egg snot flavor ruin my red meat. NO MAYO ON RED MEAT PERIOD. This is Common Law, Man Law and the Bro Code.
