While I do agree that the service level as you come in the door is sorely lacking, the food completely makes up for it. I ordered the Honey Seared Prawn and it was simply amazing! The best way to describe it is like an Asian Krispy Kreme Shrimp Donut. If you, don't bust in there like an American tourist overseas, and treat them with respect, then your service level will be better. Yes, they are a restaurant. And yes, the service should be them treating you the customer with respect. But you are in Chinatown. Be courteous. Expect a moderate wait in the evenings, and you will be rewarded with wonderful food.

Very nice, family-owned and authentic location. Service was efficient, food very good concerning the price. Would go again!

Great Chinese great price. We had the menu special for four. (Cone with multiple dishes) everything was excellent. The half chicken was moist and delicious. The eggplant dish was superb. The tsingtao beer is 3$ how can you go wrong...

Quite nice yeung chow fried rice (very good shrimp, and bright bbq pork). The clams are a little gritty, and the vegetable and mushroom dish that I ordered had an odd sweet taste, but the place is clearly very popular, and the prices are excellent ($6.50 for the fried rice).

I suggest this place due to the owners hospitality. The owner of the place was very nice to us when we ate at this place. A kid in our party had a birthday when we ate there. She took the kid (with permission of course) to a bakery and gave the kid a cookie. She lent out cookies to others in the group. Food was excellent.

We arrived for dinner to find we were the only non-asians in the restaurant (a very good sign) located in Chinatown. What a fantastic choice! We asked the waitress a couple of questions who had trouble understanding us (we are from Florida) and the owner came right over to assist. We ordered Peking Duck and asked what she would eat if ordering and the owner's recommendation was Salt & Pepper Crab. She did return several minutes later to let us know she had run out of Peking Duck and could she recommend something else. We mentioned we came just for the Peking Duck that evening but would came back the next evening. She excused herself saying she would find a Peking Duck from another restaurant so we wouldn't have to return. Our complete dinner came only minutes later and was perfect. Chung King is now a must every trip to San Francisco. The owner was a delight and we hope she will remember us as we will certainly remember her and her excellent restaurant.

Damn good Cantonese Chinese food Cantonese style. Rock cod dishes are great. Fried chicken fried Chinese style with hot flavored oil and salted pepper. Wow. Great prices too. As somebody from a real Chinese country, this was great.

Great Chinese food for an affordable price. This is my go to spot for affordable comfort food. Unfortunately, I just found out they will be closing. Their last day is June 25, 2017. After that it will be under new management.

The food was pretty good.......If u are used to Chinese meat being okay....It is good but if you expect high quality meat is is survivable....For me.....but then again im super picky as it is....So u cant trust me.. Overall for most people it should be good
