Dinosaurs Sandwiches is a cute little shop with drinks, chips, and a variety of bahn mi sandwiches. I really enjoyed the roasted portobello sandwich, which was well-seasoned with salt and pepper, and topped with pickled carrots and daikon, cucumber, and cilantro (ordered without jalapeños). It was very tasty and came on a lightly toasted French roll with vegenaise. They also have a small souvenir stand of Dinosaur Sandwiches apparel and caps. There are a few tables and chairs outside. I highly recommend Dinosaurs Sandwiches for their delicious and fresh food, and speedy service.
The food is good but the menu prices on Google are way off. The Shaking Beef is listed on Google in the menus section for $7.50. The actual price is $12.50. I asked one of the staff and he said the prices on Google haven’t been updated since 2017.
Writing a love letter to the shaking beef banh mi here, which is so addictively delicious. I've tried some other flavors (pork, meatball, the special) and honestly the other banh mi options are probably 4 stars, but the shaking beef is just so incredible you MUST try it. Fluffy but crunchy bread, they don't skimp on the meat when it comes to the beef (whereas I've been disappointed before with the pork sandwich) -- it's too good!
I got in line(there was one person in front of me) and I noticed that even when the space is small the place is clean and organized. There is one fridge with different drinks to choose and they also have some snacks. Outside there are 4 small tables for outdoor dining. I ordered the Pork special sandwich, pork&shrimp spring rolls and a mango mint smoothie. I am really impressed with this place, to be honest I have no complaints everything was delicious and fresh. When I say delicious I mean EXTREMELY delicious and mouth watering plus the portions are great. The pork special is not your regular sandwich and I would recommend it. The spring rolls where fresh, chewy and tasty. Finally the drink was very refreshing. What are you waiting? Come and taste this delicious food.
Nice hidden-away spot for spring rolls for takeaway or outdoor seating. Seems very popular - there was a nearly constant line. Took longer than I expected for the food to be made.
The bahn mi and summer rolls are both SO good! Their vegan tofu bahn mi is delicious too, and I appreciate that there are great vegan options. The prices have definitely increased a lot since 2017 when I first started coming here, but that’s due to inflation and similar to other restaurants.
Even though it’s mostly grab and go, there’s even some outdoor seating to eat in.
Decided to try this literal hole-in-the-wall bahn mi joint. Parking outside is pretty much non-existent or luck is on your side and the surrounding area can be a bit dodgy. We got the special, grilled chicken and one Vietnamese ice coffee. The grilled chicken was tasty but a bit spicier than I can handle. The special was just okay - felt like eating mystery meat. The amount for both sandwiches were plenty. The coffee was okay (bring your own straw bc the paper straw did not hold up at all). I am curious to try their mango mint drink next time. I think it's a good option to grab a quick bite if you are in the area and don't want to wait in a long queue for food or you are planning to picnic at Duboce Park which is a short walk.
Delicious delicious! It was worth every penny. It may be more expensive than your average banh mi shop, but I could taste why and I support the shop’s want to serve highly quality ingredients and I don’t mind paying for it.
I got the special and was incredibly impressed. There was a nice thick layer of pate which was warm! It tasted homemade versus store bought. The meats were also warm and thick slabs. I’m not the biggest fan of the bread shape, just it’s shape, but the bread itself was nicely crispy outside and soft inside. Veggies on point. My husband got the shaken beef, quality of the beef was great, cooked well.
I also got an avocado shake, gah, I haven’t had one in ages! It tasted just like how my grandma used to make them. You can taste the avocado and know it was fresh avocados and not powder. Their Thai tea was also delicious.

Ordered sandwiches and spring rolls for lunch! I split the shaking beef and the special sandwich. Everything was really tasty.
The shaking beef didn't have a lot of ingredients. But the flavors were delicious. The pork special had a lot of filling and was very tasty. I would get the special again!
Also split the shrimp spring rolls and they were excellent!
Thank you for the great lunch today!
Dinosaurs had delightful Bánh Mì. My partner and I split the beef sandwich which was tasty with each bite. The pork and shrimp spring rolls paired with the warm peanut sauce was exquisite for a mid day light lunch. The meal was refreshing and satisfying. Dinosaurs had information on their increased pricing with inflation which keeps customers in the loop. I believe this transparency is rare yet much appreciated. I would definitely give this little spot a try!
