True definition of a mom & pop shop. This burger joint is a place where you can get a burger for as low as $5! I ordered a double cheese burger with bacon and it was $8. Food is relatively good and standard, they've been around since 1988 and the decor definitely shows! They are really nice people, but there might be an element of upselling that I noticed. Regardless, a good place to support!

Great mom and pop burger joint. Never crowded for lunch... I can't figure out why? Crispy fries, juicy burgers and fast service.

Hands down the best cheeseburger I've had since being in San Francisco. I cant speak on their other entrees, but the bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and mushrooms, well worth the money.

It's so lovely to see a humble establishment like this still operating in rapidly gentrifying San Francisco. I feel like I'm getting a taste of what San Francisco really was before it got overrun by techbros. This gem of a spot is a mom and pop run by literal Asian grandparents- they are adorable and have photos of their grandkids pasted up behind the counter. They make their burgers to order and it tastes like nostalgia. It tastes like the burger you get at a family picnic. I'd even describe it even as like McDonalds except better, made in front of your eyes, and made with love. Why walk into a place called Original Perfect Hamburger and order anything besides a burger? Don't overcomplicated it y'all- just order a cheeseburger and fries, and maybe a fresh squeezed OJ. You cannot be disappointed.

Good cheeseburgers, it's all I ever order here. Cheeseburger (+bacon if I'm feeling luxurious), everything on it, extra sauce. I mean "Perfect Hamburger" is half the title, so to me it is all but implied on what the hell to order here. It's a no brainer, get a burger here and you probably will leave happy (unless you're always unhappy). Burgers range from $5-9 and you really can't beat that in San Francisco, let alone downtown. Most of these other places I end up spending $15+ for what equates to the same burger served on a super-fancy-baked-in-a-brick-oven-from-Italy bun. I will say the one thing that annoys me is sometimes they're mildly pushy about adding sides. They wanna make money, no big deal, it's just sometimes I'm in a hurry and don't want to waste time P.s. Read a bunch of negative reviews about extra fee for small credit card transactions. I think some folks don't realize Credit processing companies can charge for any and even failed transactions, gas stations and convenience stores charge extra for cards as well. Split a bill 5 ways? That's 5X the fees. They are also transparent about it, my friend was annoyed too but they didn't lie about it or hide it. I'm pretty sure there's a sign near the entrance too...

Food was excellent. We had the Denver Omlet and a blueberry pancake with extra blueberries and whipped cream on top. Great pancake with fresh blueberries. Omlet was made with fresh peppers, tomatoes and onions all hand chopped and nicely cooked. Hand cut potatoes grilled nicely without a lot of grease. Friendly service, happy to make my special pancake. Pricing is lower than other near by restaurants.

This place is amazing and they have EVERYTHING!! Very mom and pop diner in San Francisco with the absolute best food ever!! I have ate at so many places ranging from bad, decent, good, excellent and now this place has brought forth a level of deliciousness that is review!! I have never felt so compelled to write a review before right now. I had the Mongolian beef with veggies over rice and you can tell the cow wasn't dead when they took the meat for my meal. Very fresh meat, tender and juicy! The vegetables were obvious fresh because they didn't have that flash frozen crisp to them but we're all very tender and easy to eat even the broccoli and carrots. The second dish ordered was the rack of lamb, mashed potatoes and salad with bread. I've never used this term and have never enjoyed hearing others use it but it seems very appropriate here and it was AMAZEBALLS!!!!!! The lamb was juicy, tender and sweet that any movie with lambs in it will never be the same again! I will never see another lamb in my life without wondering if it can be as fresh and tasty as what I had today. Also ordered two spring rolls and they were just as good. Everyone should try this place and I can't wait to come back and try other platters!! I will be back at least twice a month!!

First of all, the service was outstanding. The food was almost perfect. Even if the food hadn't been so delicious, I would return to this charming cafe just to be served by the friendly and efficient wait staff. The food was flavorful American style with a Chinese twist. Great place to stop by for a meal before or after going shopping near Union Square.
