Loved the food! It was a bit spicy for kids but if you’re into spicy desi food, this place is worth checking out. I highly recommend take-out option instead of dining in. This place is too congested and there are two restrooms that are filled with graffiti all over their walls. The restrooms are l toward the back and they use the walkway to it for all kinds of food-related storage so the smell was very strong and it permeated the dining area, making the eating experience bad.

Overall not bad at all especially for the price! But the Tikka Masala was a bit lacking in flavor. I thought it was very plain so I couldn’t enjoy it. The lamb biryani was absolutely delicious and I totally recommend it. Also the naan is HUGE so I suggest 1 naan for 2 people. The restaurant inside was a little dirty and the utensils weren’t fully clean. But I would totally come again to eat the food!

Good halal option in San Francisco, not too far from the touristy spots. There is plenty of street parking, and the place has ample dine in space. Service was relatively fast, prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious.

Came here on a weekday night and there was no line but you go up to order!
Good:
- The food was amazing! The chicken tikka masala was really good and huge portion sizes.
- Fast service - our food came out relatively quickly and really warm
Bad:
- Seating was outside near a super busy street, so we'd get interrupted by the sound of a blaring car horn
Overall it was a good experience and it was super nice to have a lot of food after a workout class!

OVERALL: 5/5
Food: 5/5
Service: 5/5 (Self Service)
Ambiance: 5/5
Please note that this is a casual self-service spot. You order at the counter, take a number and wait for your number to be called to pick up the food. The busboy will clean your table after. They were pretty efficient with it.
We had…
- Beef Seekh Kebab - Delicious!! Steaming hot, moist and spicy.
- Aloo Naan - Flatbread filled with w thick layer of potatoes
- Keema Naan - Flatbread filled with spicy group beef (this could have had more beef)
- Vegetable Samosas - This was the weakest dish.
Be sure to get the cilantro and tamarind chutneys from the self-service fridge and ask them for fresh sliced onions and Jalapeños.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food. The best seekh kebab I have had in the city since a long long time.
Plus - This did not break the bank.

I ve beeen going to Pakwan since 2012. I love this rustic hip place .. i am a Indian American man and love food from India/Pakistan region.. the taste / aroma / consistency of the food is very important for me to enjoy goodness from my motherland.. the taste of these dishes are far superior than other restaurants. This is a great spot for vegetarians. I keep going back and back again .. i moved back to San Francisco after 6 years and yesterday i got to enjoy a beautiful lunch with a foodie friend. Will be back and keepup the great work. 🌺🙏🏽

My first time trying Pakistani food and loved it! Food was really good and looked authentic. Great price too

Excellent food. My friend and I had the Aloo Mutter and chicken tikka masala along with rice and garlic naan. Everything was delicious. Cooked to order food so it’s a wait but totally worth it. The prices are also reasonable

The place is open till late and that is the best part. The food is delicious, both vegetarian and non vegetarian options. It's all self service here, you have to order, pick up the order, get the plates, spoons, glasses, tissues. The restroom is in pretty bad state. You might have to wait for sometime during busy hours.

WOW WOW WOW! Visiting from San Diego I wandered by this restaurant and saw a very attractive man wolfing down whatever was on his plate. I asked him what was so delicious and he said the Chicken Tikki Masala. I am usually not a fan of Chicken Tikki Masala as it’s a very tricky dish to perfectly balance all the spices. I was hungry after my flight so I ordered the Chicken Tikki Masala sans rice and got the plain Naan bread instead. When my order was ready I sat down and got to work enjoying this mysterious dish. Once I sampled the sauce with my spoon I was HOOKED! A beautiful array of very mild yet powerful spices blended masterfully with a savory base. This tastes like HEAVEN!! And the Naan bread was so rich and buttery. I am so glad I skipped the rice and got the Naan, it is that good! So if you are in the mood for excellence in world cuisine stop here!

This place has the quality and the quantity with a reasonable price! One of the best places to eat in San Francisco. You cannot ever go wrong choosing to eat here 🤌👌

The staff is super nice and the food is fantastic and reasonably priced. The naan bread is as fresh as it gets and the chai tea is perfect. You can see all the food being made to order. I'd absolutely come back here if I had the chance.

Good food, in fact, the most authentic desi cuisine I've had in the US so far. They didn't have chai, which was a bummer, but the samosas with the imli chutney and chole were too good. The kadhai chicken was also good, and the spices weren't mellowed down. Finally ended the beautiful lunch with some kheer, which was yummy too! Only downside of the place is they can do way better with the decor!
PS: the prices were very pocket-friendly!

Best Pakistani food I had ever. Quality is consistent every time. So far, I have tried lamb curry, chicken biryani, garlic nann, samosas, chicken curry, and tandoori fish. *chef's kiss.* So good

the good thing; fairly priced indian food.
the guy at the counter was friendly, but didn‘t really explain how it works; sit somewhere, order and pay at the counter, get yourself fork, knive, spoon, glass, water, napkin, whatever, wait until your number is called and then get your food from there to your table.
the food (paneer und chicken tikka masala) was decent, but definitely not one of my favourits (except the naan - that was so soft and good), sorry :/ service was ok, since there is no waiting for a waiter but you have to do in on your own.
one-time experience for me I guess.

Absolutely delicious! The Saag Gosht (spinach and lamb) went perfectly with the basmati rice! The 3 of us split 1 curry and 1 rice as a follow up meal/snack and it was the perfect size for us!
The water and cutlery is all self service and it’s hot and humid inside - especially on a hot summer day.
