Love this place, while it's not full on old skool sushi. I love their interesting rolls. And I always try and order something off the specials, and they never disappoint. But when is the new space going to open, been waiting forever!

This place scratches my sushi itch regularly with fabulous fish and great service. The sashimi plate filled with their freshest often beckons me out of my sushi comfort zone and the tuna poki with truffle ponzu is like mind-blowing!! Also thanks to their incredibly knowledgable staff, I'm learning about Japanese Whisky. Seriously, this place rocks!

They were able to accomodate a walk-in at 8pm for 3! Romantic, candlelit atmosphere. Lively but not too loud for conversation. Really good sushi at reasonable prices. Also, buy a bottle and get a dozen of really big and tasty oysters for free. Adding to^ tried their Happy Hour and it’s AMAZING! Both drink and food options on the HH menu were great. The Sochu they make in store is unbelievably good. Probably my favorite alcoholic drink yet! Had the lemon one and waitress brought a free plum shot at the end of the meal because I enjoyed it so much. I really appreciate that this restaurant is authentic, high quality, but also tries innovative plates.

We had dinner there yesterday right after the restaurant opened. We tried all the items on the happy hour menu, chirashi and sushi combo. The fish were super fresh. And the team were very friendly. Will definitely come back later. One thing is, it would be better if the wasabi came stronger.

This place definitely has fresh sashimi and sushi! I have only ordered their Chirashi Bowl online, several times at this point. Great value and good size portion. I almost always judge a Japanese Restaurant by their Chirashi bowls! Highly recommend. I have not actually eaten their yet, but it looks great!

I'm actually really surprised that this place had a low rating - the place has an amazing happy hour! Super cheap and good prices - I probably wouldn't come for the normal hours. Good: The service is quite fast with happy hour at 5:30 pm and we got like 3 rounds of different food. I thought the maki of the day was really worth it and the highball drinks were really tasty too. I liked the sweet yummy roll too - probably the highlight since the sweet potato tasted really good in the tempura. They also give you a free shot at the end of the meal! Bad: I didn't like the fried kama as much since it was pretty bland and fried but I did like the first couple of bites. Overall I thought that this place was a steal for the happy hour prices and has a nice ambiance for a friend catchup.

This now one of our favorite spot in the city for Japanese sushi/sake etc. They have a very impressive collection of sake/souchu (Japanese whisky), probably the largest I've seen in SF. They have knowledgeable and friendly staff, so it doesn't matter if you are new or super experience already with sake, they can find something that surprises you. Moreover, their sushi is so fresh and delicious and goes so well with their drinks, that just make us want to come back again and again. The vibe is great with hip and trendy music, and the decor is very classy, artsy, and has an Asian elegance to it. Come see for yourself, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. We will definitely go back and bring our friends along.

We got salmon, spicy tuna and their black pepper special sushi. As my expectations were really high I can’t say that sushi’s were great, it was okay. Salmon was tasty as well (portion is a little bit small though) I will come back to try different things, their ambiance is great!

Wonderful return to this beautiful establishment. I hadn't been here in years due to life and travels. I was blown away at the improvements they have made on what was already wonderful. The oysters were so fresh. Hamachi Kama prepared to perfection. Black Sabbath roll was a balance of feisty and respecr for the fish. Sake, Sochu, drink selection is vast. The service was professional, graceful and personable, from the host to our waitstaff to the bartender. I am a SF lifer. And, this place made me feel so at home and elevated my spirits. I can't wait to come back.

I wish I had checked this place out sooner--it's terrific! Aside from the extensive and impressive collection of sakes, shochus, whiskeys, and cocktails, the food here is top notch. The rolls are so creative and intriguing it was hard to pick just one, and the one we ended up trying, the Black Sabbath, was excellent. Definitely have to come back and try more. We loved the Torch My Belly appetizer, a heavenly serving of seared salmon belly paired with a savory salad, and the hamachi kama was pretty good, though not the best we have had. The shining star for me was the sushi. We ordered the chu toro nigiri, and this was the runaway favorite not just because it's an obviously fatty and delightful cut of fish. The rice was a level above the best sushi places in the area, with the perfect amount, texture, and flavor. I could order that rice with even the lowliest selection of fish and and still cry with happiness. Can't wait to explore the rest of this menu!

I LOVE this place! Go for happy hour— I got the sashimi 8pc and the tuna sashimi. Excellent Japanese beer and liquor selection and quality sushi. I feel very lucky to live close by!
