Baby Blues Bbq

Excellent bbq. A dream come true for a father and daughter who flew 10000 miles to taste it !! We had the brisket, Memphis ribs and two different sausages. All were amazing. Especially the brisket, was one of the top 3 I have tasted. And I have tested a lot …. Exceptional service, owner was a great guy with very good advice. And do not forget the pig candy. Incredible place to have bbq and smoked meat! The place is very nice, as well as the waitress, who explained us the diferences between meats. Nice variety of beers! For the meet, just choose any of these: wonderful, awesome, incredible, delicious, exquisite, delightful, scrummy... And meat can be accompanied with any of the four stepped spicy bbq sauces!

Some absolutely great food here. We got the bbq platter- 3 meats and a side, split between two hungry people was a good amount of food. We got the baby back ribs, brisket, and blackened catfish, with the beans and dirty rice as a side. I was BLOWN AWAY by the catfish. Star of the show. My husband liked the ribs the best. The two of us were unable to finish the entire platter, the house barbecue sauces are fantastic too.

Baby Blue's BBQ has decent BBQ. I've had much better though. This is good for Bernal Heights at least. My Texas beef rib $45 was served on a bed of arugula, beans and rice. This was too small to be considered the "Dino Bone" type. It was cooked for 12 hours. The meat retained its moisture and easily came off the bone. It had a nice glaze but I was expecting more of a smokey flavor. The highlight for me were the four sauces available. This made the meat less monotonous. It came with one side dish although it was not listed on the menu as such. My side selection was the sauteed okra which was over cooked turning it mushy and missing that okra snap. Other thoughts: They serve Standard Deviant beer, a local beer, which is brewed down the next neighborhood over on 14th St. 12oz Hefeweizen $5, ice cold in a can. The bartender/waiter was a older gentleman playing dominoes with the bar patrons. I thought that was cool. Good job everyone at Baby Blues BBQ.

Update: 2/19/23 The burger belongs in the conversation of “best burger in SF.” ### Love this food!! The server took the time to explain the different sauces and how the flavor profiles worked with the food. That was awesome. We had smoked wings, smoked oysters, brisket, pulled pork, Memphis ribs and baby back ribs. Everything was awesome!! The Mac and cheese was, perhaps, the best I have ever had in my life. Like my grandma’s but better. That’s about as big of a compliment as I can give a restaurant. Definitely the best barbecue on this side of the Bay.

I have eaten BBQ from coast to coast and I am from Texas... so I'm very particular about my que! We ordered all the meats, smoked wings, with Mac n cheese, and the beans with dirty rice. This is the best I've had outside of my choice places at home. This place is a must try for anyone looking for great BBQ! They earned these stars since I hardly ever leave reviews!!!
