I love this place. Food, service, ambiance and music is great. I took friends there Sunday night for great Ethiopian food and a bit of jazz. Everyone loved it. We were served by the bartender and received great service and drinks he made us were excellent. Music was great, the duet made the night very special.
What a fantastic night! The whole experience was one of the best of our 4 week vacation. We read about this place in Australia and booked ahead - just as well... people couldn't get in. The Ethiopian food is spicy but oh sooooo delicious. The band was just awesome. But the biggest shout out was to our wonderful server who explained the menu, recommended great dishes, and made it all such a fun night. Dinner, drinks and incredible laid back jazz for only 35 bucks a person. How good is that!
An education in jazz/blues and the culinary arts. Live jazz (a remarkably gifted quintet when we visited) Ethiopian food, unique craft cocktails. Phenomenal on every level.
Love love loved it!
Waitress was super helpful and we really enjoyed the Sheba platter.
Planning to revisit for Jazz band
One of the best Ethiopian Restaurants we have been to. The injera is delicious. The Chicken and beef tibs were flavorful and if course the honey wine was great. We went when there was a live piano player there too. Great friendly service and delicious food.
Had dinner at this Ethiopian restaurant with live Jazz music on a Sunday night.
The ambience was very nice, a bit on the darker side with LED candles on tables. Downsides - Seating is quite cramped and they use plastic glasses to serve water.
Apparently, the central dividing wall of the dining room is actually a replica of the Church of St. George, an Ethiopian Orthodox Christian church.
The band started playing around 7pm, they were really good! Enjoyed the music.
The lady server was very knowledgeable and helpful! Though since she was the only one handling all the tables, a bit stressed, she forgot that I had asked for a Bourbon.
The food itself was very good! Would recommend this place for the food and the music.
This is one of my favorite spots in the city. I come as often as I can whenever I don’t feel like cooking ethiopian dishes myself and want to be served 🥰 My friend and I ordered the cat fish, tibs wat, vegetarian sampler, and we shared everything ‘family style’. The honey wine is also always a reliable go-to to wash everything down 😋 The injera isn’t as authentic as other places but they do make up for it with everything else and of course the nightly live jazz shows which you won’t find anywhere else 🎷🎸🥁🎹
Awesome food and vibe, unique cocktail, friendly host, i’d love to be back!!
Came here on a Saturday night with a reservation but it wasn’t busy at 6 pm. Be warned, live music doesn’t start until 8 ish! So we waited there until it started but the people who did eventually play were great.
We got the vegetarian sampler which seemed to be super popular among a lot of people who went, and the doro wat and one of the sambusas which I super recommend! We got the sirloin one. Overall, the food was super tasty snd fresh, almost too much food for two people so great portion sizes.
We also got the fudge cake which was tasty. The service and ambiance here is great and the waiter was super kind. Would come again, though later.
Chill keys and vocals over dinner. Exploring Ethiopian cuisine. Really good experience, food, and helpful/easy-going staff. I highly recommend the chicken dish.
The lamb was just ok. The beef tartar was good but not as good as the chicken.
Would have loved larger portions.
The food is amazing, Good vegetarian options.
The live music is amazing but it's a little too loud.
We stopped by for a cocktail. Nice vibe. Relaxed and good for conversation. We had to dash as the music was getting started, so we'll have to return for the full experience.
