This is a fun market to browse and shop as a break from the mall stores and shops. For lunch and dinner, they have a large selection of prepared and hot food, from pizzas to sushi and buffet items. There's also soups, sandwiches, sweets, pastries, fresh breads and much more. While the food isn't always tasty but just average (like the food in the main mall food court), I do like the choices.
Great selection (can be pricey though). I love their fresh fruit, pizzas, strawberry lemonade (I forget the brand), and more. (My friend had their sandwich wraps; he could not get enough.) If you need some quick hot food, this is the spot.
I remember when Bristol farms had a split shop in the basement level. On side food, the other side flowers. I didn't have much need to go to the flower side. Usually I run in here when I need to pick up something quick on the way home for dinner. They have high end gourmet foods with the high end prices. They have a large selection of baked goodies, hot food and cheese.
Bristol Farms has become a staple for me ever since I started taking classes at SF State's Extension. It's pricey, but some of their hot food options are cheaper than some of the restaurants in the mall. My guilty pleasure is their tempura chicken, which is white meat lightly fried in an orange sauce. The rice is separate, but I usually put mixed greens in my box.
Their sushi selections vary each day. I like to get inari or an avocado roll, but sometimes they're not available. They also have teriyaki bowls, sandwiches, ready-made salads, pizza, sweets, and more. The Peet's across the hall carries their muffins.
The lines can get really long, but it goes fast. And you can stare at all the varieties of chocolate while you're waiting.
Bristol Farms was a savior during the two years I was in school at SF State. They are on the pricier side but you can get slice of pizza, pasta, sandwich, etc. here at a lot cheaper price than the other food outlets in the food court. There is also a huge variety of drinks, nuts, bread, magazines, chips, etc so you have a lot of choices to pick from. Walgreens also has a store now about 50 feet away inside Westfied mall on the same floor so hopefully overtime competition will move the prices down.
Payment/checkout lines can get long and there is more than enough stuff (like candies, drinks, magazines, nuts, etc.) to keep you busy while you wait for your turn to pay & get out of there.
Getting help from someone can get challenging at times but thats expected with any grocery like store (including Walgreens).
Bristol Farms is a reminder of what grocery stores were probably like in the 30's, 40's and 50's - when quality of service and product really mattered - and still do to this day. It may, on the surface, appear a bit pricey, but it's well worth the value you receive.
Service with a smile - but it took ages for the guy at the deli to notice that I needed service. However, the food was worth the wait. Delicious meat and fresh organic vegetables.
An awesome place to go and build your own salad or get some of their hot food. 10$ per pound is a reasonable price. Good stuff.
great location, great variety of groceries, good to buy snacks while you are shopping at Westfield. Cupcakes for delicious, only $ 1.99
I still can't believe there is a supermarket inside a mall. This is a great place to grab some last minute items. The baked goods are usually pretty good too.
