My family loves this place. Since our favorite steak house closed down and a fru fru restaurant open in its place. Thank God for TADS. We use to go to palace steak house on the corner of mission and Cesar Chavez. TADS is the place to be for a great New York steak. Yum yum yum.
The first time I went to Tad's i had the salmon n it was good but I believe that if it wasn't a lil on the dry side it would have been great.
But this did not discourage me from going back n trying a different meal, I recently returned to Tad's n had a steak n to my amazement it was DEVINE the steak melted in my mouth n it was prepared perfectly
I left full n with nothing vut smiles
Pleasantly surprised with Tad’s. Wanted a steak dinner without a $100 price tag and for $27.99 it delivered! When we were leaving every table had at least one steak dinner on it, so it seems to be the go to place for it. Steak was cooked medium rare. It was a little chewy, but for the cut it was to be expected. They were plentiful on the add on of grilled onions and mushrooms. Baked potato was great. Salad was also good. Garlic bread was there only disappointment. More like over grilled buttered bread. Service was excellent and everyone was friendly. Plenty of open seating with clean tables. Restrooms were maintained and cleaned.
I really enjoyed my visit to this charming place. They offer delicious steaks at reasonable prices, which I think adds great variety to our dining options. Despite their affordable pricing, the service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly. The ribeye I ordered was truly exquisite - juicy and bursting with rich flavors. It was cooked to perfection, exactly medium rare as I had requested. I'm confident that you'll have a great experience here. Give it a try!
The service was super friendly. The burger was delicious!!
The fried chicken tastes good but the breading was more like a fish fry vs. fried chicken. The veggie omelette was good enough as was the grilled chicken.
We left full and satisfied and wouldn't mind coming back.
Overall, it was good. Came for breakfast on a Tuesday before an event nearby. The food was hot, the wait staff at the counter was nice. I wasn't blown away by any means...typical breakfast fare with above average prices. On par for a lot of other places nearby.
Would have liked to have some music or something playing. Mostly just the clinks and clanks of the plates and people eating.
I was on the verge of going to John’s Grill right next to the Tad’s. I was convinced I found a perfect place for traveler whose budget was tight. Steak and side dishes were fine. If I did not have a lunch late, I would gorged ravenously. But only disappointed one was the overcooked steak. I ordered mediun-rare, but it was a kind of medium or even medium-welldone. Except for this, I was satisfied with this diner.
Best bacon cheeseburger and fries I've had in a really long time. The fries where salted and cooked to perfection. The burger was delicious and sized to perfection. Needed a nap afterwards. Only negative was the limited drink options for non alcoholic drinks.

Without commenting on service (since I’d of course be biased), the food was outstanding with immaculate presentation and due to my arm injury, was prepared in a way that allowed for ease of consumption! Presentation was above par (especially with the clever use of a glass to hold the fruit!). The Ribeye and Eggs were cooked better than I could’ve ever make! Beautiful grill marks, seared perfectly and cooked to perfection. Seasoned to a generous taste. Eggs are eggs but cooked to a beautiful sunny side up that didn’t break too easily. Fruit was fresh (and displayed beautifully!)
Ol Blaster Hawkins and I were out doing things, and minding our own business when one of the street hooligans decided he wanted Blaster's Rolex, what a mistake that was! This was just 3 blocks from our dinner place...Tad's Steakhouse and we were going to be late for dinner if we had to negotiate with the little bandidos about this and that, so I put Lil Thumper on this brain surgeons noggin and out he went. Blaster looked at the poor fellow and said "I think I'll order the chicken fried steak, it comes with mashed potatoes doesn't it?" Tad's Steakhouse sure is a great place, amazing food and reasonably priced. 5 Stars ☆☆☆☆☆
Not sure why this place doenst get better reviews. If you take one look inside it should be plain to see that you wont be getting any A5 wagyu here, so you should know what to expect. Fast and friendly service, rib eye cooked as requested. Good portion of tasty food for a good price.
I like the self-service style adopted by the steakhouse. Atmosphere was good. Food was OK for the price.
