The ultimate cheap eat
Little gem. Delicious food served in a casual setting. This is street food at its finest. Sensational tacos. Absolute bargain we loved it here. So pleased we were recommended it by a local.
Tiny but GOOD. Fresh and delicious good cooked as you wait. Reasonably priced, good portions (free chips and guac- yay), and open late. Good selection of breakfasts too.
Best hole in the wall I've come across! The alambres and enchiladas were so tender, juicy, and flavorful and the burritos looked huge! Highly recommended!
Cheap and really delicious. Great green salsa, burritos are amazing and big portions.
I ate lunch here with friends & the food was excellent!!! The Chicken Super Burrito was perfect. The restaurant is small but the food was fast & very affordable. We Loved It!!!
Best meal in San Francisco!. Just got back from SF and must say that this place delivered the best meal of the trip. Not to mention the value we received. Make sure you go for lunch since it is not in the best of neighborhoods. I went with my wife and 9 month old. Don't go at night unless you are alone. This is a must visit for tacos and burrito lovers!
One of the top 10 Burritos I have ever eaten
Don't let its Surroundings Deter You. I found myself on my own for a while as my wife had meeting commitments on our trip to San Francisco. It was around lunchtime, so I went to the hotel lobby to get a recommendation for a taqueria from one of the staff. I mentioned I'd prefer a place where locals go rather than a touristy spot. He recommended Taqueria Can-Cun. He said the food was good and it was within walking distance. He also mentioned that the surrounding neighborhood wasn't the best. I thanked him and I was on my way. I figured that growing up and living in New York City for more than half my life, I'd seen plenty of neighborhoods that weren't the best. I was pretty sure I'd be OK.
It was only about a 10 minute walk and yes, the neighborhood was definitely in need of some urban renewal. I could see how one would be apprehensive about making the trip. The place was small, little more than a take out joint. The thing that struck me as I stepped in was how good it smelled. I had time to look over the menu as there were a couple of people ahead of me. I ordered the Carne Asada Super Burrito with a side of rice and beans. I had it to go as the few available tables were full. As I watched them make it I noticed they were being very generous with the meat. They packed it up and I walked back. The burrito was huge. It was really good. It wasn't the taste I was used to like when I get burritos in Atlanta. It seemed more authentic. I liked the way the meat was cooked, it was very moist. All the ingredients worked well together with nothing overpowering the other. The rice and beans were OK, but the beans could have used more salt. If you're willing to look past its less than pristine surroundings, I'd recommend giving Taqueria Can-Cun a try.
Good Hole in the Wall Mexican. There are so many hole in the wall Mexican restaurant in San Francisco. I can't say anything really stands out about Taqueria Cancun. But if you find yourself nearby and want a fix, you could certainly do much worse.
I had the Alhambra Especial (meat plate). It was pretty tasty and came with all the usual fixin's. I enjoyed it. The guys working there were nice and friendly.
If I was in the neighborhood, I would not hesitate to go back.
Excellent value for a decent price. The Super Breakfast Burrito is packed with goodness. One of the best crafted burritos in the menu. The free side of chips and salsa makes dine-in worthwhile.
I got the super burrito (which was huge btw) and they are extremely generous with the portion size. But $15 for a burrito seems a bit overpriced haha. The burrito overall was quite good but I would say it is lacking in flavor, like it’s almost a little bland. The carne asada was very good tho. The seating is very cramped inside but the workers are quite nice!
This place is great. Their Taco salad with steak and shrimp is tops. Tacos rock, too. It's right next to Our studio so it's really convenient, on Market Street.

Great spot on market street, right in the tenderloin. We tried going to this place three times, Sunday they were closed all day and Monday we were too late! But then we finally managed to hit it up for lunch later in the week, I had to go with the house special! And was not disappointed. I would recommend getting the wet burrito with black beans instead of pinto! And order the Mexican coke!
Came here for a quick dinner before a musical at the Golden Gate Theatre and came back every day for the rest of my stay in SF. Fantastic food and great value, highly recommend!
Went on Wednesday almost noon and LOVED the food! Ordered a chicken burrito with salsa roja and it was so flavorful!! I know some people will be grossed out and all since fridge and food prep is almost done next to a customer since it is a small location, but the food is amazing!! Definitely want to come back! I’ve tried so many places that sell Mexican food and nothing compares to this place! Gave us chips and some salsa!
Usually I find places like these the best and very dedicated to their work! Just thinking about this burrito I got makes me want more!!

This place has been in the same spot, making the same fabtastic monster Burritos for well over 30 years. It is a part of this city and much respect goes to the owner who respects his ingredients and his customers.
Simplicity and diligent selection and use of fresh ingredients, and some love, make for the finest Mexican Burrito in the nation.
Its good...when its good...I've been there once before and didn't plan on going back because it mediocre..but today it was good..
This place is popular with local inhabitants, and tourists. Take in account that some dishes are big size. This
We found this place, as we were looking for Mexican style street tacos.
It was a good find - great service with nice customer service and they brought out the food really fast. I really appreciate the men who served us, very kind!
They serve chips and salsa while you wait, and the chips are very tasty and the green sauce was my favorite.
I ordered carne asada tacos, around $3 each. They were bigger than I was expecting, which was a good surprise. The size of my palm, with double tortillas.
The parking was bad, we parked in the street. And this downtown area does have a lot going on and crowded streets at times. Be careful, some alleys look sketchy.
Didn't take many pictures, but from the reviews. I can say that this picture is what it actually looks like inside, not the other colorful pictures with the Mexicans banners.
