Review Bi-rite Market - San Francisco

Bi-Rite offers unique diverse foods that you won't find in other markets. Superb quality and selection.

Cute market place with lots of samples to try! Lots of healthy vegan options too! Overall very expensive though! It’s a good place though to pick up a to go sandwich on the way to Alamo Square Park!

I love this store - so much quality cheese, meat, produce and non perishable good - many local and interesting brands and products and super friendly staff - such a gem!

Fabulous neighborhood market. Friendly staff great produce, meat, poultry & seafood. A bit on the pricey side as to be expected

Packed with good stuff and friendly staff, especially at the deli counter. Be on your toes when waiting in line to check out, or you'll get skipped.

If you wanted to find specialty cheese, wine, fruits, or packaged items, this is the place to go. I mean where else can you find Mandariquats? If you were to buy regular produce, I would avoid it because this market is overly pricey but also super busy. This market fits into the bougie SF narrative. Though, I'm really amazed by the variety of items they have here such as flowers, fish, sushi, cheese wall, and wine sheves. The icecream is pretty good too.

Easily one of the best ice cream shops in the city. Plain vanilla & chocolate are simply delicious!

Really lovely market, their cheese selection is amazing and I love seeing where all the produce are from in local areas. The ice cream is honestly the best I’ve had and they have really interesting seasonal flavors that you wouldn’t expect. And the lines are way shorter here than the actual creamery!

High-end market with killer sandwiches and meals from the deli. Wide variety of items you can’t find anywhere else. Good wines

Bi-Rite Market is a great place to stop by for lunch & groceries! Make sure to try the Achiote Chicken Sandwich and some of the healthy items sold in the store!

If I find myself filing for bankruptcy someday, it's a safe bet that Bi-Rite would be partially responsible. That's because I want to buy everything here, and that's because nearly everything is incredible here, both thoughtfully sourced and impeccably made, from fresh fruits and vegetables, to their meats, seafood, cheeses, and prepared dishes. Sandwiches are to die for, with my current favorites being the hot Roast Beef Sandwich and the Vegan Hippie Sandwich, but liable to change when the mood hits. The desserts, from their line-out-the-door famous ice cream to their sweet concoctions-in-a-jar, are also fabulous, with my runaway favorite being the strawberry marscapone pretzel dessert. You can’t go wrong with the prepared food options either, from their delicious salads to their unerringly fantastic empanadas. The ONLY problem with Bi-Rite, as I alluded to in the beginning, is the wallet-burning price. Wowza it is expensive... but you absolutely get your money's worth! My advice is to go elsewhere for the basics (e.g. eggs, tortillas, pasta), and come here for prepared foods or anything that needs high quality.

Their honey lavender ice cream was the reason we came and their support will be the reason we come back. Let me tell you when I had that first bite of ice cream i wanted to cry. SO GOOD!!! By the scoop isn't available right now (although I suspect when covid is under control and they can back to a more "normal" operation it will be back) so you can only buy it by the pint. It was so good I ate it all in one sitting 😋 They are inclusive and kind and clean. I would move up to San Francisco JUST to go every week, but for now I have to settle for visiting every time I go up.

If the ice cream here is any indication of the quality of food offered, then this place is pretty awesome. I simply love the ice cream.

Delicious ice cream 🍦 lots of flavor to choose from The line was not that long compared to the other location in market st. Since it was hot that day in the city everyone is craving for ice cream 🍦

So expensive, yet so good. I've never bought anything I didn't like here. I really don't recommend buying staples because your bill will quickly go through the roof, but when stone fruit is in season it's really worth it to stock up on peaches and pluots here. It's very tight inside; do yourself a favor and don't wear a backpack. I like getting ice cream on my way out--the black sesame flavor is bomb.

It would be wonderful if you could bring back the pre made salad dressings and the vegan pasta salad 😉👍🏻😃

Had a great experience ordering catered trays from here. They were delivered to the the venue right on time. They all arrived on VERY presentable wooden box trays, which are obviously recyclable. Each tray was also plastic sealed. Very impressed with the quality of the cheese and charcuterie boards. Would use them again!

Best family style, gourmet, cares about the community and sustainability of the world kinda grocery store. You get the best quality goods from knowledgeable super friendly people. You will pay good money for it but it's always worth it! Such a fun place to shop. Oh yeah.. Super fresh high quality local organic produce and meats. I love this store!

My group stopped by here to get a pint of ice cream to share, instead of waiting for just a scoop in the extremely long line at their dedicated ice cream store front. It was super quick to pop in, make a selection amongst their HUGE collection, and then walk over to Mission Dolores Park -- literally a PERFECT pit stop to make your park visit even better. We got the limited flavor "La Esperanza Coffee Blossom Honey w Honey Cake Crumbles", which was a mouthful to say BUT a delicious mouthful to consume. It's definitely on the sweeter side but it was a hit with my group nonetheless, and the texture of the crumbles were exceptionally amazing! A pint fed three people well on a balmy SF day. I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you don't have the time to wait in line! The line for the market is significantly shorter and you're still supporting the same business!
