Located adjacent to the Argonaut hotel. If you're a guest there, it connects to the hotel. Try the clam chowder.

We loved Brian for his excellent service, kindness and his awesome recommendations and the discussion with him about the food. He was able to explain a lot of things to us about the preparation process. We came in only a few minutes before the restaurant was about to close but we didn't feel at all rushed but welcomed and had great and quick service! The food here WAS AMAZING!! we only had two dishes because we were disappointed by the clam chowder we had on Pier 39 (is it any wonder?), so the gentleman at the Left-Hand store told us that Blue Mermaid won an award and their New England Clam chowder doesn't have ham/bacon (we have a food restriction for pork). The ambiance was great as we sat outside in 50 degree weather but didn't feel cold due to an fire pit and a heater specifically for our table. A beautiful full moon night! The Clam Chowder was a 1000 times better than what we had at Pier 39 but the best discovery was Brian's recommendation of Shrimp Curry. It was unlike any curry we've had! Simply amazing! We can't wait to come back again and hope to say hello to Brian as he is a food enthusiast just like us and seems to love what he does 10 STARS!

such a great atmosphere! JP’s pick (in both pictures) was my drink of choice while in SF! Staff was absolutely amazing. So polite and great service. I ordered the French toast, breakfast potatoes and bacon for breakfast. (Not pictures). Everything was so yummy. Bacon could have been crispier but that’s a personal preference! The potatoes have onions and peppers in them so if you don’t like those, be sure to specify that! Over all great experience at both the hotel and restaurant

My wife and I stayed at the Argonot and The Blue Mermaid did not disappoint. As the in house restaurant I wasn't expecting much but we ate either Lunch or Breakfast here every day. Service is great Martin and JC were the best and very engaging. We got the Continental breakfast package with our stay and I wouldn't do that again as I'm more of a meat and potato person but the fruit was fresh and the pastry was amazing! The Chowder does not disappoint was our favorite when here. Go check it out even if you're not staying at the Hotel it's worth a visit.

We went to Blue Mermaid restaurant on 3 different occasions during our stay in San Francisco. I loved it every time. Our waiter, Gerardo, who we were lucky enough to get twice was fantastic! And my Clam Chowder bread bowl was honestly the best Clam chowder and sour dough bread I've ever had. So yum! And our breakfast was amazing both times we went. We will definitely go again on our next Fisherman's Wharf trip.

Superb food! Attentive and prompt service. Comfortable seating and nice ambience. In most places impossible burger is disappointing but not here. It has delicious sauces inside and the salad complemented the dish perfectly. The lemon ricotta pancakes were also nice but I expected slightly fluffier texture. I also wish they had a few more vegetarian mains options. The Haight Ash-berry was the perfect citrus boost drink. Overall great experience and highly recommended.

Very friendly staff. They gave us plenty of time to chat, eat and just take in the ambiance after walking along the pier all morning. There was no pressure and we didn't feel rushed with people waiting for a table. Very nice place to unwind. There are two fireplaces in the outdoors seating area that keeps you very warm in the San Francisco fog 😉 Awesome place for groups. This restaurant is connected to the Argonaut Hotel so if you are staying in Fisherman's Wharf, it's very convenient. Bathrooms are huge and very clean. Food is delicious and portion size is huge. The server recommended their award winning crab and corn chowder in a bread bowl which we got. Big enough to share if you're not too hungry. Mac and cheese gets 👍

Recently, I visited Blue Mermaid Restaurant Chowder House and Bar located in Fisherman’s Wharf. Overall it was a good visit and they made a good impression. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating. One cool thing about this location is that serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and have a bar. Now, I must say, as a seafood fanatic from Maryland, my standards are high. I thoroughly enjoyed the Clam Chowder and Crab / Corn bread bowl. This is definitely a good seafood spot. Next, I ordered their Mermaid Burger and Fries. Overall, it was a good burger. The only issue was that the applewood smoked bacon was undercooked. I asked the waiter to return it and bring “crispy” bacon. By the time my bacon arrived, I was 2/3 through the burger. This aspect of the visit dampened my experience. I’m always shocked to see restaurants that don’t serve crispy bacon. If bacon is limp, that means it’s undercooked. I would revisit the restaurant, but, order something new.
