This restaurant was excellent. We chose this as it was just down the road from the hotel and had great reviews and what a choice it was. We had the Tin Rolls (server encouraged us to try these), Bun Ga Xa and the Caramelized Claypot Shrimp. Each of these were absolutely fantastic! The shrimp dish had lots of big tasty shrimp which is a nice change from places that are stingy with them! The service was excellent too. The restaurant seemed to be doing lots of UberEats/Grubhub orders and that is always a good sign.
I’m surprised by this place! Unique and special - we ordered the Tin roll -with crunchy fried shallot, lemongrass grilled pork and boiled egg in it - is very different from what I normally get from Vietnamese restaurants.
For this trip, I only scouted 2 places to eat, one for breakfast and the other for dinner. This was dinner. The reviews were spot on, this was delicious. We both enjoyed our meals and it was way too much food. Sam had the vegetarian pho and I had the bun thit nuong. Best Vietnamese food we have had in a long time. Definitely on the to do list again when next in San Francisco.
Food was good, but they forgot to bring out the side dishes and sauce for the Pho. But otherwise a great spot.
I ate Banh Xeo, Bun cha, Chicken wing roll. The food was different with normal Vietnamese style but it was delicious. The restaurant is a small strong bistro
Despite being very busy, the service was great and fast. The food was delicious! Great for vegetarians.
I can't wait to return to Tin! Their Shaken Beef is so delicious. The beef is in large cubes and they are tender and juicy. I have no idea how they stir fried large cubes of beef and make it so tender!
The Caramelized Claypot Catfish is great too. The fish is full of flavors. My mouth is watering just from thinking about it. I recommend getting the Hue Roll for the appetizer. The grill pork inside of the roll is crispy and well seasoned which really brings extra texture to the roll.
The service is great too. The waitress even offered to let me taste a wine before committing to ordering it. And unlike a lot pho restaurants, Tin is well decorated with great ambiance.
Classic Vietnamese cuisine is indeed very tasty 😋. I’m glad to found this restaurant. The server is polite and prompt. The vegetables and ingredients are fresh. Proteins are not over cooked and texture is made just right. Rice noodles texture is great, neither soggy nor too firm. Marination and seasoning to the proteins and dishes are made right and not too salty. I will revisit again.
Basic Vietnamese restaurant with very tasty food. It’s popular for takeout as well as dine in. It’s a hidden gem if you have the craving for pho.
The Hue rolls had the thinnest wrap, grilled pork added to the pop of taste. Loved the texture.
The fried rolls were a hit as well. Crunchy, crispy and tasty. Loved it. Wrap it with lettuce, mint, basil and it’s magic.
Beef pho hit the spot. Broth was well balanced. Thinly sliced beef wasn’t overcooked. The beef chunks in the broth wasn’t dried out. Noodles were the thin type which was great for absorbing the broth.
The spicy noodle soup had thicker noodles, almost like udon. It was delicious as well.
It seems this place is popular with locals. Service was very efficient. Go for the pho fix!
Wow. This was a fantastic spot for lunch. The bun bo xao (lemongrass beef vermicelli noodle bowl) was fantastic. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. Also enjoyed a limeade to wash it down.
