Review Arizmendi Bakery - San Francisco

Maria Villanueva
Love this little bakery. It’s located in the same street as Seidel’s Pizza, Willow on the green and their cheese roll so super yummy. You should totally go here. For $13.25. I got two cheese rolls, one croissant, chocolate, and one whole wheat English muffin, which was pretty good for the area.

I had a few pastries today and two were great but one was really really bad. I had the chocolate chip mint cookie which was awesome and the bilaly with onions atop were great and fresh out of the oven. But the brittle cookie I ate was not just brittle. It was so dry it tasted like very very stale and nearly indelible. Very quick in and out of the bakery, got there with no line mid-afternoon

Wish I lived closer; the riccaceli almond cookies are amazing! Tender and flavorful. The Mexican chocolate muffin is also a favorite although it's been a few years. Thumbs up on the pizza. Line moves pretty quickly.

I like the profit sharing idea behind Arizmendi but this particular pizza that I had was very oily which I didn't like. The muffins that we tried were a bit dry too. I will go back again though to support them and give it another chance.

Wonderful neighborhood bakery — it is a self-service method (grab a piece of tissue paper and gather the baked goods you want). The coffee offerings are a bit limited (coffee and lattes primarily) — but the beverages are delicious! Happy to see the gluten-free options — scones, muffins, and even a brownie. Tried the GF carrot muffin which was delicious — would definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for a GF baked treat. A lot is probably not celiac friendly, but the team definitely could answer questions about the offerings.

Not the best day for me to try this spot. This place is always busy and I always avoided standing in line. This time there were just few people and I was able to order and grab my goodies within 5 minutes. While they have large selection of baked goods, the ones I got were not the best ones, none of them tasted fresh! I wasn’t sure if I had to reheat( esp the cheese roll), it was hard as rock. I’m pretty sure they taste amazing when freshly baked, just not the day I got them. Scones were good though.

Definitely one of the best bakeries in town for I don't know how long! Kind of addicted to their pecan rolls, and my partner to the brioche knot. But I would eat more of their delicious selection if my body could afford the calories.

Another amazing place to stopped by while visiting the Golden Gate Park. The bakery is famous for its thin crust pizza from the oven and the pastries. It has Togo window service. You order from the window and pick up the order from the the doorway counter. There was a line when we visited. So, it’s better to order online before getting there, so you only stay on the pickup line.

Very special small bakery with tasty and tasty-looking baked goods. Holiday goodies include fruitcake and Marzipan Stollen. Adequate outdoor seats and public benches.

Love the place and quality of the food. Great service as most people are saying but most importantly they are making great stuff for a reasonable price (we are in SF 😬). Their bakeries might not look beautiful (I didn’t notice myself) as some people shared via photos but what do you prefer? Looking good or tasting good? Their chocolate croissant are fluffy and taste butter, have literally 2 bars of chocolate in them and reminds me of what it’s like in France, in a good bakery. I love the fact that they can bake specialties like in January they do kings cake and they are awesome, much better and better priced than other places in downtown SF. For me this place is managed by chef bakers who wants to please people with their food and I am grateful !

This is a true gem of a place. Employee owned, putting out the best and most varied pizza in the city at the cheapest price in the city. Just might be my favorite bakery on the planet and a true testament to what can happen when a restaurant puts the community first.

A cute little bakery who with very efficient service. The baked goods are sweet but the pizza isn’t your standard Italian or American pizza (literally just a baked bread with stuff on top) but it’s good for what it is. Only small complaint would be that it’s not warm or toasted but then it wouldn’t be efficient. The two pizzas of the day are down below (mushroom one and a tomato one).

Great local honest solid bakery. While you won't find the finesse of a French cafe/bakery here, you will find solid and generous bake goods with good ingredient. We love the scones which are made with fresh berries. The sour dough based bread, pizza, rolls and foccacia can be chewy but is very filling. One pastry item can essentially be a meal replacement. We brought some and had it in a park for lunch which was lovely. The ones that we took home improves dramatically after being heated in the oven for 5-7 minutes. Service is friendly and genuine. Lovely neighbourhood vibe.

This review is for the gochujang bread. I came by on a Tuesday for the first time and was warmly welcomed. I was gifted a loaf of gochujang bread for coming in with my friend, who is a loyal patron. The bread was moist and savory, more delicious than I imagined. Recommended!

The reviews say it all. One of the best bakeries in SF! I think their savory breads shine more than the sweets.

Good selection of bakery items. We ordered a few muffins and they were all tasty. They have a rotating menu of different daily items. There is also a small selection of gluten free items. Coffee is good. There is no seating inside so be prepared to sit outside, stand, or take your items to go.

Great prices and we loved the Bialy (poppy seed & onion) bread. We also tried a southwest focaccia slice and a brioche knot which were solid but I probably wouldn’t get them again. The Bialy was slightly salty which paired really well with the sweetness of the onions. I can only imagine how much better it would be warm, straight out of the oven. For the focaccia slice, I personally did not like the corn topping but feel that the other toppings available might be better. The brioche knot is very dense, slight cinnamon flavor, and also had golden raisins which I thought paired nicely (even though I don’t really like raisins). Great location a few blocks from golden gate park and there’s also a decent amount of outdoor seating in the parklet. Definitely want to come back and try the olive focaccia, jalapeño stick, and croissants.

SF worker-owned bakery! Everything is hot and fresh and drop dead delicious. The pizza by the slice has great, fresh ingredients and is a good value. The sourdough is unbelievable. Such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.

Bang for your bucks! I have tried their pizza slice - cheesy veggie. Totally delicious! Their sourdough crust has further enhanced the flavors. If you want to have tasty pizza, bread or pastries, this is definitely a place to try. All items are economical. They have everyday special pizza with organic seasonal veggies and other high quality ingredients. Don’t forget to order online if you want to have whole pizza of the day. They don’t have dine-in option but there are benches on the walkway to sit and eat. I will definitely go back to try their pastries!

Always a great place to stop by for their fresh baked pizzas. The daily pizza never disappoints and they are always changing up the flavor. A staple in the Sunset district!

I dream about this place. Possibly the best bakery I have ever been to.
Matthew King
Please don't go here it's busy enough! I kid, I am blessed to have this place as my neighborhood bakery.

Best "cheap eats" in the Sunset. Love the pizza, a must for a hike in the park! Great service and a great vibe!
Ashley Gorman
Great food, friendly staff with a line down the street. Super efficient process.
Babette Canton
The onion bialy and the sourdough croissants. That is all. They'd be 5 stars but their coffee is a bit overpriced and small.

The first place I go when I come to San Francisco from PA...to get a pecan sticky bun...luckily my daughter only lives 2 blocks away!♡

The muffins at Arízmendi Bakery are beyond amazing, especially their carrot muffins!
Keith Dolven
I applaud the methodology of the business! and hope to learn more from them and get to sample the goods!
Erika Arcan Fundelius
Brioche and Chocolate things is unparalleled. The scones are not over sweetened. Sourdough is amazing. $2.75 up

We need more stars for this wonder place. The people, the food are simply the best. I don't eat pizza from other places, it's just a waste of my money & an insult to my taste buds.

OK this is a business that just deserves 27 stars. A worker owned co-op that makes the most insane pastries humanly possible, the bread is unreal and the service is fabulous. Discovered it by accident and have been going back weekly for all the baked goods needs. The pizza is YUMMY ! and they make these things called Wolverine Rolls which by name alone appeal to the geek inside me. Basically everything is amazing here from the English Muffins, to the Scones and Brownies and all the variations of bread ! Situated on a charming street, always full of cheery people and great energy. My personal favorite person there is a lady named Tanya who is just amazing = ) A local business that does it completely and totally RIGHT !!

Dude (older guy) at the counter blatantly took my change, leaving me confused, like there's some mandatory tipping going on (that I should be aware of but obviously not) and then leaves me standing there, without putting my order in, and all the folks behind me are getting served. I felt like some uncool kid, getting rejected by the bouncer at the club and all I wanted was a piece of pizza. Strange 1st time experience... No thanks.

The best Artisan Bread in Town . Goodies and sweets are so good.
