Being Italian, I’m very picky when it comes to dining at Italian restaurants, but Fior D’Italia has captured my heart. Anything we’re in town, we must eat there. I have never found a dish that I disliked. Great food, great waitservice, great atmosphere, a must try!
The food and wine were outstanding, and the service was impeccable. I relied on the advice of my waiter to help narrow down my choices for food and dessert, and I was not disappointed with his suggestions! This was easily one of the best dining experiences I've had!
Every moment we spent on a Sunday afternoon at this historic restaurant was truly divine. We listened to fabulous (and well-seasoned) jazz musicians during our leisurely (3-hour) lunch. Our waiter Gil regaled us with tales about the origin of our bottle of Italian wine, as he served up a scrumptious 4-course beautifully plated meal. The atmosphere transports you to another very special place and time. A perfect way to spend an afternoon by the Bay.
We researched a good restaurant in Little Italy in hopes to find something amazing AND WE DID! Not only does it claim to be the oldest Italian restaurant in the US it’s also amazing. We went with four of us and we all enjoyed what we had. While the restaurant was a little older, it added to the historic piece of the restaurant. The staff was friendly and we can’t stop talking about how yummy the food was.
It was good… just not great.
Server was nice. Manager was accommodating. Ambiance was worn and tired. Food is simple but fresh. We like to order several items to share at the table, but everything is so heavy and rich, we couldn’t find lighter or more vibrant dishes to balance it all out. The table bread was fantastic.
Had dinner with friends yesterday! Their fresh pasta were amazing the dry ones not that much. Service was a little slow for a calm Monday.
Flavorful food. Gnocchi softer than I am used to. Pumpkin ravioli exploded in my mouth 👄 this is supposedly the oldest Italian restaurant, but it was technically closed like 20 years ago, and the owners bought the branding of the oldest Italian restaurant so maybe that was a scam I didn’t really care because the food was great.

Went to get dinner with the family.
The atmosphere was really relaxing.
The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly.
Ordered a bottle of wine, The Stag Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles 2019 which had a full and rich taste.
The risotto alla milanese was delicious and good portion for one person.
The tiramisu was perfect for dessert and good for sharing.
I love the atmosphere of the place. Authentic, old Italian restaurant. Maybe I had bad luck that day and it might also been due to my choice of meal but my experience wasn't what I had hoped for. I had Bruscetta and Tortellini a la Panna. The dressing of the salad with the Bruscetta was too vinegary for my taste and the taste of the overall dish was not to my liking. I did enjoy the Tortellini a la Panna and I appreciate freshly made pasta but I expected a more balanced taste. It's a rather heavy dish that has a dominant cream taste. I would recommend to pick other dishes. The food itself was still good but paired with the inattentive service, I didn't enjoy my evening there. I got the impression that the staff was not in a good mood and that simply didn't meet my expectation. As I already said, it might have been just a bad day too go and a choice of meal that doesnt do justice to the otherwise great chef but I can't speak for that. As for me, I'm glad I went. I really enjoyed taking a look around.
friendliest staff, that remembers you even if it’s been months since your last visit.
the food is top notch, everything made from scratch (except the bread which is purchased fresh each day and is delicious). literally cannot go wrong with anything on the menu!
the vibe is old school Italian restaurant, with some deep booths, as well as open tables. there’s a live piano player on several nights each week.
i always take my out of town guests here, and highly recommend you stopping in too.
Amazing restaurant that is well worth the visit. Super friendly and helpful staff, and the best pasta I have ever had.
