Review Cha Cha Cha - San Francisco

Alex W
The food was delicious, the fried bananas with black beans were unique but full of flavor. The paella mix was fresh as was the fish in it. The sangria was delicious and I should have ordered another one. Prices were extremely fair and wait staff was attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend this place to eat!

The food was great, I had the cheese quesadillas. The ambience looks amazing and the server was nice. It's near the amoeba music store so a good place to have food when in sf before a concert or browsing through amoeba's records.

Stopped and shopped in Haight Ashbury for Burning Man, and we found this Caribbean fusion restaurant located in the heart of this thriving SF neighborhood. We decided to sample a variety of dishes and were completely blown away. Dishes are with a mouthwatering blend of spices and tenderness that made it unforgettable. The ambiance was charming, indoor dinner sitting or by the bar are both great options.

Great place! Great service, excellent food with very nice portions, and very reasonable price! I had the vaca house dish - steak with beans and plantains…. Great. Son had the Cajun shrimp. We loved it!

Cha Cha Cha never disappoints! From the Shrimp and chicken wings to Sangria that’s all you need. Oh yea, and keep the bread coming too. When dining with friends I will try other things but wings and shrimp get you rite every single time.

Love the atmosphere! Went there recently because the restaurant I wanted to go to was closed on the day. I am so glad I got to try Cha Cha Cha! Love the flavours and the fried bananas 😋 I would definitely go back!

Stopped in while visiting San Francisco. We were blown away at how good this place is. We had ceviche, calamari and the pork with yucca and ajo sauce. We kinda expected tapas sized dishes for the price point but everything was a decent entree size. It was amazing. I'm still thinking about that pork roast.

Cha Cha Cha is a vibrant and lively restaurant that truly captures the spirit of the Caribbean. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly transports you to a tropical paradise. The food is a delightful fusion of Caribbean and Latin American flavors, showcasing a diverse and exciting menu that caters to a variety of tastes. One highlight of Cha Cha Cha is their impeccable cocktail selection. The Mojito and Raspberry Beret cocktails, in particular, are absolute standouts. The Mojito is expertly crafted with the perfect balance of fresh mint, lime, rum, and a hint of sweetness. Sipping on this refreshing concoction is like taking a sip of summer itself. As for the Raspberry Beret, its combination of fruity raspberry flavors and a touch of elegance make it a delightful choice for those seeking a unique and flavorful libation. The bartenders at Cha Cha Cha truly know their craft and create cocktails that are both visually appealing and delicious. Aside from the stellar cocktails, the food at Cha Cha Cha is equally exceptional. The menu offers a tantalizing array of dishes, from flavorful jerk chicken and succulent seafood paella to mouthwatering plantains and savory empanadas. Each bite is a burst of vibrant flavors that transport your taste buds to the sunny shores of the Caribbean. The portions are generous, making it a great place to share a meal with friends or family. The service at Cha Cha Cha is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and can offer recommendations based on your preferences, ensuring that every visit is tailored to your culinary desires. The only slight drawback to Cha Cha Cha is that it can get quite busy, especially during peak hours. This popularity is a testament to the restaurant's reputation and the quality of its offerings, but it may result in a longer wait time. However, the vibrant ambiance and delicious food make it well worth the wait. In conclusion, Cha Cha Cha is a gem of a restaurant that transports you to the Caribbean with its lively atmosphere, delectable cuisine, and outstanding cocktails. The Mojito and Raspberry Beret cocktails are must-tries, showcasing the skill and creativity of the bartenders. Whether you're seeking a memorable dining experience or a place to unwind with friends, Cha Cha Cha offers a vibrant and flavorful journey that will leave you craving more.

The decor is a vibe in itself. We got the big pitcher of Sangria, great choice! We also got the amazing Cajun garlic shrimp which has a sauce you can dip anything in and the paella which was fresh and flavorful. I wish we tried the jerk chicken, we did get the chicken wings and plantains which were good but the jerk chicken would have rounded out the meal . Definitely recommend tho 🔥✊🏾

Helpful staff. Very good food. I love the decor and love sitting near the window in the bar and watching Haight Street life go by.

Update July 2023: had the BBQ pork quesadilla which was tangy and good. The Jalapeño margarita was not so good. Service was impersonal and slow. Had to ask for a fork. Maybe because it was crowded. Very good drinks. Had the Plantain dish which was sweet and sour with the black bean sauce. My wife had the ceviche.

Friend of mines from Sacramento took me here while I was visiting the Bay Area. She said it's one of her spots in Frisco and it lived up to the hype. The food here was DELICIOUS 😋

First time here! Expectations were high since a couple of people hyped it up. We were able to squeeze in 8 people and all of us had a fun time. The workers are friendly and provided a great service. We ordered close to a couple of everything - family style. You can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu! Unfortunately my phone does poorly in low lighting so don’t judge the restaurant by my picture.

TL;DR: This is an excellent Latin themed small plates restaurant with cocktails and ample seating. Highly recommended to visit. Awesome portions, great prices, amazing vibe, good drinks, and a historic location for this neighborhood Latin tapas restaurant. Highly recommend the visit if your visiting the Haight area or in San Francisco and enjoy Tapas or Small Plates. While they say the plates are small, the sizes are pretty large. The Sangria here comes highly recommended and is worth trying. Also, the Paella was excellent. One noticeable highlight about the dishes here is that they do not sacrifice meat for fillers. For example, the Arroz Con Pollo (Chicken w/Rice) was actually full of chicken! The Paella had lots of meat! You certainly get your money's worth for each of the plates. They have Latin themed small plates, full entrees, and other sides. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It can get busy here and they can be short staffed sometimes, so be prepared. We had no trouble finding parking on a Saturday on nearby streets. Take out all valuables from your car, absolutely a must.

Fast and cordial service, food had some very good items like the empanadas and the sangria. Music is good and had a really authentic Latin flare.

Very nice atmosphere. Went on a local’s recommendation. Ordered a glass of sangria and the prawn Cajun shrimps. Both very tasty. They also give bread for the sauce. Great friendly service. Music very authentic. Definitely would go again.

Fun Cuban inspired bar and restaurant with rustic colorful feel. Food is legit - you can watch the tasty creations being made after ordering. Mushrooms, paella are delicious. There are quesadillas for kids too.

Loved this spot. Service and food were awesome. The decor was fun. Odd mixture of Chinese and Mexican but just loved it.

Your Sangria and tapas are enough of a motivation for me to buy an airline ticket and come back "home" to San Francisco for a visit!
