Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop

Ordered the Hot Fudge Sundae. The cherry was tart and sweet. The ice cream was delicious with the fudge. Definitely scoop downward to get a bit of everything in one scoop. Good experience to share with a group, would not recommend one sundae per person unless you're feeling ambitious and hungry. Interior of the location is very cool with a chocolate fountain wall, an old chocolate milling machine, and a large 'G' font that connects from the first floor to the second. Is very busy so it may be a challenge to find a table to sit. Worth a visit as a tourist.

This spot is a jewel! I’m glad I was able to experience going into a Ghirardelli in its founding city. The classic hot fudge sundae is so good and I’m not even a fan of ice cream at all! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting San Francisco. Enjoying a sundae in downtown San Francisco is such a beautiful experience.

This was a cool spot to visit! I didn't get a chance to visit the actual Ghirardelli Square area, but there were plenty of chocolates out here. I ordered the caramel hot chocolate, which came with a caramel Ghirardelli square. It tasted great, but if you're not a fan of sweet drinks, I wouldn't get it. It was extremely sugary. Regardless of what you get (I hear the ice cream is pretty good), its a cool spot to hang out in while waiting for the BART @ Montgomery station.

This is the shop to order delectable sundaes and ice cream concoctions. They also have a gift shop on the side. Plenty of seating but we went on a busy Saturday night and had to wait for seats to become available. The employees were very polite. When my cousin wasn’t sure what she wanted, the clerk said what she recommended and that whatever you choose, we just want you to have a good experience with us here. Definitely able to share the sundaes as they are large portions.
