Delfina Restaurant in San Francisco is a charming culinary destination that I'd rate at 4 stars. The cozy ambiance and simple yet elegant décor create a welcoming atmosphere for diners. The emphasis on seasonal ingredients is evident in their menu, resulting in dishes that burst with freshness and flavor.
The food at Delfina is undeniably delicious, with a focus on Italian-inspired cuisine. The carefully crafted dishes showcase a thoughtful approach to preparation and presentation. However, there were moments when certain dishes didn't quite meet the high expectations set by the rest of the menu, preventing a full 5-star rating.
The service staff is attentive and knowledgeable, adding to the overall positive experience. Their recommendations and insights into the menu contribute to a well-rounded dining journey.
The wine selection complements the menu well, offering a variety of options to enhance the dining experience.
In summary, Delfina Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with some minor inconsistencies in execution that led to a 4-star rating. The ambiance, flavors, and service make it a worthwhile spot to explore Italian cuisine in San Francisco.

Honestly one of the best meals I’ve had all year. The server was so kind and helpful, super friendly to our little kiddos (5 and 2); they have off menu simplified kid pastas and a huge delicious bread starter that made our lives so easy so my husband and I could enjoy our INCREDIBLE homemade pastas. His capallacci was the best filled pasta I’ve ever had and my ragú was just flawless.
Plus — for fellow Bluey lovers — they have pavlova for dessert!! My kids flipped.
SO GOOD, we’ll be back many times!

We really enjoyed the offerings and then the food. The staff was great, allowed us time to figure out what we wanted and then enjoy the food and each other's company. The only downside is that they had this great bread, but no butter. Not sure if they even had olive oil, they only seemed to serve it with a soft cheese.

First time eating here since their remodel. They created a beautiful space and I love the new bar. Excellent drinks and delicious food — especially enjoyed the Parmigiano Sformato with figs. Looking forward to coming back again.

The manager and our servers when we visited was just phenomenal. Got all their recommendations and highly suggest people do the same if they’re open to anything and just love good food. The drinks were also amazing. The best espresso martini I’ve had in the city. Period.

Easily the best Italian in the city with an incredible vibe and even better staff. This place has a delicious, consistently updated menu of pastas, main dishes (including a whole fish which I dream about), appetizers, and two pizzas - one of which is always a margarita. I've had literally everything on the menu and couldn't say better things about it, but I especially love the anchovies which are a staple. The drinks are exceptional and the bartenders are just lovely.

My duck was perfectly cooked, and tasted wonderful.
The dessert pictured was delicious, and I would definitely recommend it.

Amazing spot for great vibes and service! The food was really good - shared the grilled red snapper 👌🏼, clam pizza, cheese starter, pistachio gelato.

Absolutely love Delfina! The atmosphere is lovely and the food is fantastic. I was really impressed with the care they take to prevent cross contamination for Celiac. The gluten free pasta was amazing! Our server, Charlotte, was wonderful and was very mindful of dietary restrictions and allergies. She also gave us great wine recommendations. Looking forward to coming again soon!

Classic Italian restaurant in SF, recently renovated and expanded. The service was fantastic, as our server was helpful and very knowledgeable about the dishes. I also liked being able to carry on a conversation without raising my voice!

Had a table booked but we couldn’t find a parking place in the surrounding streets so we were an hour late getting there.
My friend had to be somewhere later that evening so had time pressure. The staff were excellent and really pulled out all the stops to serve us quickly. The food was really good.
If you plan to eat there please get a taxi as parking is really difficult.

This was the first time we've visited Delfina since their remodel. The new space is wonderful (much quieter too). We were four and shared a number of dishes. The homemade noodles used in the Spaghetti Pomodoro was lovely, tasty, and toothsome. We shared a Red Snapper special, highly recommended.

We waited for 30 min, it’s definitely worth the wait! Saffron Arancini is Italian rice ball, it’s a great dish to start with. Grilled Monterey Calamari is fresh and tasty. Our waiter recommended seasonal special: Cherry Pie Pizza, those cherry tomatoes are so sweet. Finally, we love our dessert - pistachio gelato and strawberry sorbetto!
This place is so popular, still many to dine in at 8pm. I recommend this place if you are in near Mission District.

Amazing food and service, and they now have a lovely outdoor setup with heaters. Service was super lovely - they were running late with our pizza (though honestly we didn’t notice), and kindly apologized by giving us arancini on the house. Funnily enough the arancini was probably my favorite part of the meal - they were absolutely delightful!

We have gone here a couple times, and it always exceeds expectations.
Everyone is super nice and the food and drinks are amazing.
Our favorites were the duck, affogato, anchovies and butter, sformaggto.
For cocktails the Garibaldi was a great sweet and bitter combination, but really nothing was a miss.

Great place, friendly service. Only downside is that their pizzas are only available for take out. Their dine in service only has two fancy pizzas and we waited for a table to have pizzas only to fine out those were not available. Menu looked great but we wanted regular pizzas so we had a drink and left with our pizzas to go after ordering them on the "other side" of the restaurant. Seems silly that they would limit their menu in house like that. And no, they did not offer to let us order those pizzas for dining in.
