Couldn’t fault the business lunch I had here on a sunny day in San Francisco. The location on the Embarcadero in the Ferry Building is awesome, right on the water with magical views of the Bay Bridge. The restaurant was upmarket but not pretentious, businesslike but relaxed which made for an easy going and enjoyable atmosphere. We had multiple appetizers and a couple of entrees, too many dishes to review here in detail. I’ll just say that all of them were excellent and I don’t think you can really go wrong with anything on the menu.

The first time I came to The Slanted Door, I wasn't too big of a fan. I came a second time, ordered new dishes, and had a much better experience. I ordered the pork ribs, vegetarian crispy imperial roll, and the cellophane noodles. These meals were all delicious. It is fairly pricey for the amount you get, but with the environment and service in mind, I think it was worth it.

We had brunch here on Labor Day, so we expected it to be pretty busy. It wasn’t crowded at all when we arrived at 11:00, yet service was very very slow and we didn’t even have our drinks until 20 minutes after we sat down.
The food was really great though, and mostly made up for the service that remained slow throughout our entire meal. We tried and shared various things on the menu and everything was good, including the drinks.

The place was nice, in the ferry building with a nice outlook over the water. The food and drink were nice. Was here for a work a lunch which was good - the place was busy, but not too loud. If it weren't for the staff trying to turn the table over as soon as we finished eating it would have been near perfect.

Yes, it's a little touristy be but after a local friend suggested it we went, and I am glad we did. The menu is Vietnamese fusion, and delicious. I live in Houston, so great Vietnamese is what I am used to. We had the imperial crispy roll and ahi tuna tartare to start. The roll was just right with a delicious fish sauce for dipping. The ahi was light and spicy with beautiful rice crackers to accompany. For entrees we had the grilled ribeye, which was ok but not really worth it. We also had the lemongrass chicken and lemongrass pork shoulder noodles. Both of them were delicious but my favorite was the pork. The best dish by far was the cellophane noodles with Dungeness crab. Amazing.
Service was prompt, professional and very friendly, and my wife and I lovedbour cocktails. Go check it out!

You’ll be impressed by the cod if you are not from a foodie city or have yet to taste Asian fusion ( who’s that?) but find it passable if not. Not great. Not bad. It’s the location that is killer. It for the hard of hearing. The acoustics are horrid. Do partake of a pot of tea. Ask for extra water and make it last. Quite lovely.

Good food, efficient service, and great waterfront views. Stopped here for lunch and enjoyed sharing a couple of dishes with friends. The appetizers (spring rolls, imperial egg rolls, etc.) were not that much different from some of the more “hole in the wall” Vietnamese restaurants where you can have them for 1/10 the price—but I think here the prices reflect the location. The entrees on the other hand, were across the board excellent and flavorful. Would recommend if you’re in area!

Food was outstanding, Hiramasa, pork belly, and the carrots were the standouts for us! Amazing views, nice wine selection! Only negative is service seemed to lag a bit.

We came here for a team dinner. This place is awesome for sharing and enjoying food together. Everything was excellently prepared and served. We really enjoyed the cocktails too. A wonderful experience.

Had heard good things about Slanted Door and how difficult it was to get reservations. We must have got lucky when a reservation opened up a couple of days prior for a Saturday night. The location in the Ferry building is excellent with a great view of the Bay Bridge. Food was well presented and came out quick enough. Service was very polite and the wait staff cheerful. Didn't stay for dessert but they did look good. Would recommend this place. Try to get a waterfront table for the excellent view of the new Bay Bridge.
