Awesome gem in the Cow Hollow. There aren’t too many Italian spots but if you want to know, just look at the photos. It was better than it looks.
Fantastic food and service! Authentic and very filling. Our server, Antonio, was very attentive and had the perfect recommendations.
If your looking for an absolutely perfect dinning experience try Capannina. Fine service with a touch of love. May I suggest, Gnocchi con Gorgonzola...House made Gnocchi with Gorgonzola, asparagus and almonds...perfetto! 👌👏 Buon Appetito! 😘

Tonight's dinner and experience was truly great. I loved the wait staff and the owner came out to greet us and was such a nice man. I had a squid ink risotto that was to die for. My friend had the octopus and she loved it. We sat outside on a beautiful evening under the heat lamps and had an enjoyable time interacting with people walking by and the diners coming out. It gave us a warm, neighborhood feeling 😀
I never thought I would actually write a review for my wonderful dining experience eating Octopus..lol..But what a wonderful meal! My dish arrived at my table hot and fresh and full of flavor. TO be honest I did not know what to expect as this was my first foray into this type of dish..but so glad I took the plunge.
The waitstaff were on point and knew their menu items back to front. They were friendly and efficient. We will be back soon!
Had 4 items, all superb. The memories from our last trip to SF have consolidated to very few, this restaurant being one of them. Make a reservation early and enjoy the experience of a unique, Italian American, family run, small, scratch restaurant serving properly fresh and fundamentally prepared food. Don't let the awkward bathroom or curt staff throw you off, it is a great time.
This place is amazing. I live about 3 blocks away and my girlfriend want to try every restaurant on Union street but 80% of the time we go here because it is always more than excellent, it's fantastic! Absolutely recommend it...and it has a GREAT Italian waiter that could not be duplicated...even in Italy. You need to visit If you are lucky enough to get there before 6, they have a terrific $30 prix fix. You need to to.
