Review Morning Glory - San Diego

You come here for the atmosphere and experience of the restaurant. Had such a fun meal with friends. Really enjoyed the vibe this place set to be able to catch up and have a good time. The iced coffee was incredibly weak and lacking (for multiple different coffee drinks). It looked heavily diluted. The drip coffee was good though. The waiter was very sweet and let us sub out the coffee for something else. Food dishes were overall good. Nothing out of this world but they held their own. We got to the restaurant 10 minutes before opening and the line was already several people deep. We were in the first round of tables. This place appears to always have a line. Overall really enjoyed this place. If you are going for the food alone, I don’t think the wait is worth it. If you are going for the full experience and are willing to wait an hour in line and that won’t rain on your parade, it’s worth it. Highly recommend getting a coffee from a cafe nearby to sip on while waiting!

This place is awesome, food was delicious, service was good. The line moved pretty fast even though it was long. The Georgian cheese boat is a must, the bread itself was amazing. Also, best hash browns I’ve ever had. Place is a bit expensive but hey, it’s definitely worth it, believe this place has 2 Michelin stars. Decor was funky and interesting, don’t sit at the window though because everyone who’s in line will look at your food and you’ll get awkward eye contacts.

We loved this place! We arrived around 11am and there was no queue at this time so we walked straight in. The food was amazing - we were on a USA trip from the UK and visited NY, LA & Vegas and this was my favourite place we ate at out of everywhere! Food was 10/10 and the service was great too. I’m vegetarian so chose the Veggie Benny which I loved. Gutted that we live too far away to return and sample the rest of the menu!

Great place for breakfast. A must, if you are visiting San Diego and especially if staying in the little Italy area. There was a small wait line witch starts at the bottom of stairs leading up to restaurant about 10 min for us. Then gave our name , took our phone number and in around 20 min they called us. The sat us at the bar for faster sit down . But the wait is worth it. The food is excellent. I ordered eggs Benedict and the wife ordered souffle with berry's which is fantastic, I also ordered the thick cut bacon , but I did not like it, too fatty and smelled of strong pork ( almost farm like pig) yes I know it's bacon But I never smelled it this strong and pungent . Not worth it for me. But everything else looks amazing ! Coffee was awesome as well . Highly recommend place ! Hope to be back one day !

Cute and modern breakfast place in the middle of little Italy. There are 2 entrances to get inside this upstairs establishment either by climbing stairs, or taking the elevator. The decor is stunning with crystal carafes and glasses for water and coffee drinks, which gives it a feel of elegance. There are booths and bar seats available, as well as shaded areas covered by beautiful pink umbrellas. There is a bar and barista stand available. I ordered the soufflé pancakes and they did not disappoint. Extremely fluffy and jiggly and just as fun to eat! I also ordered their pork belly fried rice and that was super hearty with a good mix of meat and veggies. Lastly, I got their dirty latte (non-alcoholic) which is a different flavor weekly. This week it was peanut butter chocolate. Although it was a bit on the sweet side, it was still delicious. The service was excellent with very attentive workers who work together as a team and were eager to answer any questions I had, as well as offer suggestions and food modifications.

The full experience. Even the restroom is elegant. The lines can be long so waiting is not unusual. Visually excellent and the food is amazing. The best pancake that I have had in quite some time. The souffle pancakes are interesting. I had a chorizo scramble and a pancake and it was quite good. Very busy so the staff was not always easy to get but they tried hard and were very professional. A must do experience.

This is one of the rare places where you could blindly order anything from the menu and it would be amazing. Great interiors and service even when they were crowded on a Monday morning. The souffle pancakes were out of this world and so we're the hash browns. Even the hot chocolates were perfectly done and hit the right spot. I got their orange-vanilla and maple cinnamon one. I also tried the Kachapuri, inteuresting concept of a flatbread with a fried egg. From the presentation to the taste of the food everything was perfect. I would definitely love to go back and try other things on the menu.

The whole experience is incredible! Even though you might wait in line for a while (we waited 30 min on a Saturday for a party of 3, arrived at opening time), dining there is worth the wait. The menu has the good old American classics but also has lots of original additions that make the experience unique. The staff is also amazing!

Went here for brunch while visiting SD on a vacation. There always seems to be a wait, but that didn’t surprise as we had done some research ahead of time. The whole vibe of the restaurant is trendy and “maximalist”. Including the menu— so many choices! Nearly everything looked good, and we thoroughly enjoyed what we did order. The only con was that service was rushed and it was difficult to get our server if needed, since the staff seemed stretched too thin. Overall, it was a fun brunch, but not sure if I would return now that I can say I’ve checked Morning Glory off the list.

After almost 3 years in San Diego I finally checked out Morning Glory for breakfast. It is probably the most famous brunch spot in San Diego. I never wanted to do it because there was always a huge line and I hate waiting to eat, plus could it really be that great? Well one day my husband and I woke up very early and decided to go, it was also a weekday and we got there right when they opened. We were let right in, no wait. We ordered matcha lattes to start, loved the latte art! We then ordered their famous Soufflé Pancakes, Egg Mcfunnin, and Veggie Scramble. Everything was honestly amazing. I would highly recommend getting something savory and sweet to try both. I don’t think you can go wrong here, but definitely get the soufflée pancakes! They were light, fluffy, and not too sweet. Service was also great. Overall a great experience and I will be back!

We finally got to check this place out after months of seeing it all over Tik Tok. First of all, there is no reservation available ahead unless you do the Tomahawk steak, Fried Chicken or experience. You have to notify them 48 hours in advance (secret, this is the only way to secure a reservation). Otherwise, I'd recommend coming before they open as the line for a reservation goes down the stairs and down the sidewalk. Good thing we went on a Saturday, as they have Farmer's Market until 2pm so after we put our name down we just walked around for about 1.5 hrs while we waited for our reservation time. When it was finally our turn, we came back and were greeted with friendly staff. The food was good, maybe not worth all the hype but pricing was reasonable given they do give you a good amount with each dish. They have a large amount of cocktails and drinks available. I got a Peach Bellini mocktail which was delish. The Souffle pancakes were delicious as well. The quesabirria was also really delicious, the consume that came with it was interesting as well as it had more ingredients than the traditional consume. The Chilaquiles could have been better, as they drenched it with salsa Verde, so before I could even get halfway through it the chips were already soggy. Needless to say, it was definitely overwhelming. Overall, It was a nice experience, maybe we'll come back once all the hype dies down and it doesn't take too long to get a table.

This was our first time and we absolutely loved the food! It was definitely a wait to be seated but it was worth it. The atmosphere wasn't really our thing, we went with our kids. I think it's definitely a fun vibe if we were young and kid free or even just a fun date place. Prices are a bit steep but we expect that anytime we visit Cali. Overall I'm still giving this location 5 stars for its uniqueness and delicious food! We would be happy to come back again!

Great breakfast joint in downtown SD. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was eclectic with old school vibe. Definitely worth visit.

This place is amazing and the menu has a lot to take in! The food was amazing, they have a champagne bottle vending machine that works with coins you order from the server. The drinks were delicious and the bathroom is so well done but all the mirrors are a lot haha!
