O. B. People's Organic Food Markert

This is one of the few places I can find bulk whole oats and rye berries (which I cook whole; they keep their shape and some bite, and have a much lower glycemic index than rice, which I rarely eat anymore, unless eating out.) I come only a few times a year and also buy barley, legumes if I need them, and some of the produce, but I live too far away for regular shopping. If you like a lot of packaged foods, they have a ton of non-mainstream choices. The store is modern-looking from the outside, which I like. (I used to live next door to the late environmental designer Jim Bell, whom I think was at least a consultant on the building.) Though the building is modern, it feels to me like either going back in time or to the Bay Area, with a hippie-idealistic vibe. The prices are a little high; I hope this means they pay their workers a little better or provide some other perks.
