It's amazing yummy! My church friend said this is his favorite Luisana restaurant in town and he comes from southern. I'm very happy to try it out and think it has same flavor as the food in New Orleans! Wish it could be slightly cheaper in the future/after the pandemic. Anyway, love it deeply and highly recommend!

Great hidden gem on Miramar! Service was very good, attentive and helpful. The fries were great. The jambalaya is a little too salty, but the gumbo was a little bland so there's some flavoring inconsistencies. I also feel like the pricing ($12-14 for lunch) is a little pricey, and we only went in because we had a deal. If you don't care about price, I would definitely recommend this place. Try their beignets!

A must try! Casual eatery with layers of flavors. The cup/regular/Bubba bowl sizes allow you to taste the gumbo, etouffee, jambalaya, etc. Catfish batter has the perfect crisp to it. Everything is hot & fresh especially the sweet beignets.

I didn’t think it was possible to get a better experience than we already had here, but I was wrong!!! My husband and I came in for his birthday and were treated like family. Once they found out it was his birthday they gave us some free beignets that were to die for. So fluffy and covered in powdered sugar, I felt like I was on the bayou eating my gramas food again. The food is THE BEST and the service matches it great. You gotta try the catfish platter, and the gumbo, and the etouffe.

Popular lunch destination in the Miramar area. Great Southern Louisiana food comma well prepared with quality ingredients. The gumbo and poor boy sandwiches were out of this world. Casual atmosphere, friendly family service and quality food. A little bit pricey for a lunch stop, but you get what you pay for.

Absolutely delicious. I ordered the jambalaya and the spice is perfect. Not too spicy but fills the spot. The beignets are fluffy and a great finish to a meal. I'll definitely come back when I am in the area!

On Saturday night we wanted to revisit one of our favourite places in San Diego -- Bud's Louisiana Cafe, but it was a bit too far from us, so we yelped closer places and found that gem. At first when we arrived the plaza looked a bit dead, but let me tell you right away -- that means nothing about this amazing place. It should quite be the opposite with lines on the streets as you will see. When we entered, a very friendly young cashier greeted us, suggested explaining the menu and when we agreed spent a minute or too meticulously explaining every detail. That helped us a lot to make a decision. We chose "Chicken & Andouilli Sausage Gumbo" and "Shrimp Creole" regular size (there is also small and humongous) and both dishes were delicious leaving us craving for some dessert. It was actually very close to closing time already, so I was fine with the cashier to say that we can't order the dessert already, but he said that it is no problem. Beignets were really good too -- pretty doughy but not too sweet or too oily. The amount of powder was crazy and of course it end up being on our clothes. The cashier gave us a good laugh saying that one should never wear black when they eat beignets! Overall we were highly satisfied and will definitely return for more. This place should be more popular! A separate kudos to the cashier -- he clearly did genuinely care about our satisfaction. We value that a lot. The decor of the place is rather simple but pretty cozy for a quick bite place. They have signs on the walls explaining that they are actually from Louisiana.

I was just in Louisiana two weeks ago, so I can say that this is not just authentic, but better than what I ate in the French Quarter! The regular size Poboy is plenty big for most. Linebackers should order the Big Bubba size! Etouffe is to die for!

Delicious!!! Split a poboy and three side dishes with my mom. The shrimp poboy and the gumbo were my favorite of all. 😋 Everything was tasty and flavorful. Will definitely be back soon! 10/10 would recommend
