Just sort of ran into this place walking around North Park one Saturday afternoon. The place is super cute on the eye, but it's not just looks. The food was amazing! I got shrimp and chorizo tacos. My partner got machaca. I got a fancy cocktail with absinthe and lavender in it because why wouldn't I? The food was delicious... crazy flavorful and a perfect serving size. Fresh and overall awesome. Great service and vibe. Definitely recommend. <3

The food was really good. My friend tried the Elote and it was amazing! The roast duck taco wasn't worth the extra 2 dollars in my opinion. I look forward to coming back and trying different items on the menu!

My new favorite taco Tuesday destination in San Diego! The filet mignon taco was incredible and the chicken chimichurri bursting with flavor. I really enjoyed their Tommy margarita and found their guacamole recipe both original as well as gratifying.

Only came for drinks and a snack, so can't speak to the entrees, but everything we had was ridiculously good. Staff is also amazing and really friendly, and for a busy place, they have a great system for getting people their food quickly. (You order at the register and then find a spot and they bring the food and drinks to you.) I went for the margaritas and was impressed at how bright they were-not overly sweet.

One our favorite North Park stops. Some people on here complain that’s it’s not the best Mexican food they’ve had, but keep in mind this place is Latin food so it includes more than just your own personal San Diego version of Mexican fare. The empanadas are amazing and the drinks are great. Good deals for Brunch and happy hour.

Another great meal at Tamarindo. My friend and I ordered the guacamole and chips and it was delicious! The bowl comes with all the ingredients "unassembled," so you have the option of mixing it all together as-is, or you can remove or adjust the amount of each ingredient according to personal taste. We just mixed it all together and loved it. The pomegranate seeds were a surprise, but delicious, addition. My Cerveza fish tacos were great, as were the carne asada tacos my friend had. Another great surprise was my Tamarindo Margarita. Very unique and delicious!

Great atmosphere and excellent service. The ham and cheese empanadas with spicy chimichurri were outstanding! I ordered the Mojo Shrimp Caesar it was super tasty and full of flavor, the Passion fruit Mojito was refreshing and strong. Boyfriend ordered Carne Asada tacos by far the best carne asada tacos we've had here in SD. We finished with an apple and cajeta empanada for dessert and was so so good not overly sweet just perfect to share. Looking forward to tasting other menu items.

How could you go wrong here? Really good drinks (All the Loves) and this dish on Tuesday for $8... surf and turf. A filet mignon taco and crunchy fish taco... plus free chips and salsa. This is a hidden gem of North Park.

Came in for a quick cocktail. The margaritas were tasty and the yucca fries with dipping sauce were pretty good! First time eating them. Quick service as well! Will be back!😋👍

Taco Tuesday was amazing and delicious. Couldn’t decide what tacos to get so ordered a ton and the cassava fries. The cassava fries were delicious.

So have been here a few times and customer service has always been beyond amazing! Staff and managers both working well together making sure guest are always taken care of. Service is fast, efficient and always provided with smiles. Truly seems like everyone enjoys working here.
Great vegetarian options if you're looking for something different. The "Tamarindo Bowl' is the new interpretation of the "Gallo Pinto" dish from previous menus. Potato rolled tacos are made of purple potatoes so they are a nice twist.
Daily specials are always a plus and this location does not disappoint. Great drink and bar bites specials throughout the week. The Bar manager stated to me that the "Mexican Chocolate Milk Punch" is actually a multi day process to produce the libation. Actually clear instead of what you would think from the name but the flavor profile is nothing I can say I've had before. Will definitely get again!

I just love Tamarindo! I found this venue a couple of years ago while I was living out of state and couldn't wait to try it. I came home for the holidays in November 2017 and made my gimpy way to Tamarindo with friends for Happy Hour. We were immediately greeted by the bar and wait staff. They were super friendly. What I loved most about entering was how easy it was to get into the restaurant and the seating options. At the time of my first visit I was on crutches in a full leg brace (post knee surgery). The booths are all quite large (for groups) but made it easy to tuck myself and my crutches out of the way and sit comfortably.
Our server came over almost immediately and brought us water and told us about happy hour and the specials. We got beverages and starters and even with the small crowd it came pretty quickly. I don't remember what my friends order but I know what I had: the crunchy chicken tacos. Holy hell are they delicious! That was the first of many times I ate their and had that meal over the 2 months I was home in San Diego. As a non red meat eater, it is so darn hard to find chicken tacos made with shredded chicken and done well. It has been over ten years since I had a place and I wanna weep each time I eat these delectable envelopes of goodness.
In the past 2 years I have lost count of how many times I've eaten at Tamarindo and how many people I have brought or turned onto this venue. If you're thinking about it: yes, go. Now.
