I'm definitely coming back here for more! Good portions to fill you up with good flavors. Two cocktails around $12 each, a slice of carrot cake around $10, and the two meals posted took us to $79 before tip. I'm definitely excited to try other menu items. I'm not going to lie, I was nervous about the service as I have not heard great things; however, we got our food very fast and enjoyed our late Monday night service.
Came here not knowing what to expect. To my surprise there was no wait and not packed as you would predict at 11am on sunday. I ordered a cinnamon waffle and chicken. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, the best fried chicken I think I've ever had. The waffle had amazing flavor not to mention their varieties were great, fruity pebbles, chocolate chip, cinnamon you name it. This place is a hidden gem, definitely. Only catch is everything is ordered separately and can be a little pricey. Other than that I highly recommend!
Now I love a good fried chicken as much as the next guy and this place didn't disappoint.
Chicken was fried to perfection. Crispy on the outside and juicy from the inside. Chicken was flavored with herbs and spices and cayenne.
Waffles were great as well and so was the potato salad. But nothing can measure up to the fried chicken.
Would definitely visit again.
This place is so good I went twice in one week. I'm from the south and this is the best fried chicken I have had since I moved to San Diego. The owner is awesome and staff even better! They showed great customer service when my friends felt their chicken wasn't popping hot, they went and got super fresh pieces for them and some biggest for our wait!! Love this place!
Loved this place! The bloody AF was a meal in itself. The chicken leg was the hottest thing I've every had, but it was a good burn. My fried chicken sandwich was da bomb.
Will definitely go back. Staff was delightful.
We went here and both had the fried chicken breast and waffle. Initially the chicken looked darker than I expected but it was cooked perfectly. Moist and tender the seasoning was almost perfect, it was a little more salty than I would have liked. But still delicious. Also not strips but no bones. A really nice touch. The waffle was also cooked perfectly. I think this is one of the best chicken and waffles I have ever had. I will be going again.
Best fried chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. I chose the Dorothy’s Dandy, collard greens, and mac & cheese. As well as the tiger beverage. I was not disappointed, everything was cooked to perfection. I chose to double fry my chicken and it was delicious and moist. Would definitely recommend. The staff was personable and extremely attentive. Excellent experience.
Staff was great, very attentive and the place was nice and clean. We got the lemonades (my bf got the cucumber mint and added Tanqueray while I got the watermelon and added tequila) IT WAS DELICIOUS. The lemonades on their own were not too sweet.
We got the super hot wings (ghost pepper seasoning). After it cleared up my sinuses, I genuinely enjoyed them. But I like spicy. They were nice and crispy with a dry rub that was very perfectly seasoned.
Mac and cheese was great, too. They added some cheese on top and gave it a final toast for a little crunch on top 🙌
The main event was the chicken. While I normally don't enjoy the breading because usually every place just puts too much, these guys didn't. And they put maple on top of ours, so it gave a sweetness to the breading and softened it up.
Totally coming back.
How in tarnation have I not reviewed my beloved StreetCar?! I’m ashamed.
Go here. The chicken tendies are the best in town. Collard greens are on point. Might be addicted to their pickle chips.
They have like 8 different house-made sauces and they are all amazing.
Everything is perfect, and it’s the only place I’ll go when I’ve got a Sweet Tea craving, Bc that sh** is NOT easy to find in San Diego.
I give the food four stars, but I would only give the service 2 or 3 stars. What's also disappointing is that this location doesn't do donuts anymore. The employees told us you can only get donuts on the weekend at the La Jolla location now. The wait for our food was 20+ minutes and none of our food came out at the same time. Also, one of our dishes was cold. But...if you have enough patience to wait, the food is really good. They also have an enormous beer selection and massive milkshakes.
