Review Thotsakan - San Diego

C
Excellently prepared veggie dishes with plenty of flavor. Spring Rolls were crispy, hot, & fresh. Spicy Eggplant with tofu loaded with veggies and tasty sauce. Mangoes and sticky rice were the perfect finish.

The ambience was normal but food was amazing. The service was prompt and they have lot of vegetarian options. Me being a jain, they were able to accomodate curry, fried rice, drunken noodles and some more stuff. Definitely worth going on and the prices are reasonable too

This place was great! Service was nice, food was really good and brought out super fast. The vegan options were endless and they were even flexible about the lunch menu to accommodate what I wanted. 5/5 stars throughout!

This place was great. Even our 18 month old son was eating everything he could get his hands on. Thai food is one of our favorite cuisines, and this place didn't disappoint at all. The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual but hip. The guests and layout can make for a bit of a loud talking environment, but we weren't bothered by it at all. Just typical restaurant chatter, but due to the box style of the building, you can hear most people's conversations even if you don't want to. Parking nearby was a pain in the butt (definitely do not park in the place across the street as it is $30...we parked about 2 blocks away for about $13).

Really nice restaurant in downtown San Diego. We had dinner at thotsakan with some friends on a Saturday night and it was delicious. We had the summer rolls which came with peanut sauce, soo tasty. But also tofu pad Thai and chicken pad Thai, the portions are generous and huge. Our friends for the green curries and couldn’t finish. Highly recommend this Thai place if you’re around. The staff was careful and nice.

A delightful restaurant in downtown San Diego, Thotsakan provided us with a delicious dining experience on a Saturday night with friends. We savored the summer rolls, accompanied by a delectable peanut sauce. The portions of tofu Pad Thai and chicken Pad Thai were both generous and substantial. Our friends opted for the green curries but found the portions so sizable that they couldn't finish. I highly recommend this Thai establishment if you're in the area. The staff was attentive and pleasant, adding to the overall positive experience.

I went for dinner over here. Overall the place is nice. I would still say it qualifies for 4 stars for me. We were a party of two and ordered Pot Stickers for starters (the picture shows two less because I missed to click it and started eating) Drunken noodles and Pad See iw for main course. Pot stickers were overly fried and lacked the flavors. We have had better at different places. For the main course there wasn't much a difference between Drunken noodles and Pad See iw. They had the same look and feel. The only difference was in the level of spice which we selected individually for our dish. The food is still ok, family oriented place, but can do better.

The dining room was small, but quiet during lunch time on a weekday. The service was average but did not take away from the experience. All of the food was so flavorful! I enjoy spicy food so the standard spice level was really good, but be warned if you like things more mild. The vegan curry puffs were my favorite item.

Excellent Thai food… we went as a group of 12 and all liked their food. Highly recommend Tom kha soup which is coconut based and drunken noodles…the service is very good too… overall a very pleasant dining experience…

The staff were very friendly and the food is alright. The portions are larger but the taste is ok, nothing to take home. At least the pad Thai I had. There's a strong smell inside the place which felt unsanitary. May be they should explore more hygienic options for the sauce tray as that really is out open

Got the fried rice (chicken), drunken noodles (chicken), yellow curry (chicken), and curry puffs (Thai samosas). The dishes were cooked quickly and brought to our table within minutes, I would like to highlight the puffs and yellow curry. Both have left the best impressions and honestly have really made this restraunt a staple for me in the future

We dropped in for lunch and were very happy with the lunch specials and the fast, friendly service. We got the potstickers to start with in addition to the vegan yellow curry and vegan pad thai. The curry was PHENOMENAL! It was packed full of delicious flavor and features peppers, potato, carrots, and onion. The pad Thai was also delicious and came on a heaping plate. I had to take some home (and I almost always finish my food at the restaurant.) Overall, we loved the restaurant and will definitely be going back for more!!

Giving 5 stars! Sure is one of the best Thai food in San Diego. Ordered the Red Curry, Crying Tiger (grilled marinated beef) and Som Tum… everything is so on point. Great taste! Will come back for more if coming to San Diego.

Looking for Thai downtown San Diego? Definetly head to Thotsakan.. not much of atmosphere, but surely the great food and friendly service more then make up for it.
