The best Mexican food I have had outside of Mexico. It is a small downtown spot perfect for lunch. Great downtown atmosphere with outside seating available. The food was perfect. The salsa is wonderful flavor and just hot enough to make you stop and rest every 3 or 4 chips. If you are in Downtown San Diego you must stop in.
Great local spot. Owner was amazing. Best tacos and quesadillas
This place is a must stop if your looking for authentic tasting Mexican food. I ordered the machaca plate and everything from the flavor to to the tenderness of the meat was perfect. I also like that it was walking distance from our hotel and that you have the option of indoor or outdoor seating that is shaded.
Valentines Mexican Food in San Diego is a culinary haven that has redefined my love for menudo and burritos. Their menudo is divine, with a rich broth, tender tripe, and delightful hominy. The burritos are a fusion of fresh ingredients, expertly cooked meats, and an explosion of flavors. The authenticity and warmth of Valentines make every visit a cherished experience. I highly recommend Valentines Mexican Food for an unforgettable menudo and burrito feast that will surpass all expectations.
Deadly tacos! Carne Asada & Carnitas were great.
The Cali Burrito was fantastic! It had an incredibly delicious and spicy flavor, though the size wasn't as large as I prefer, I wouldn't describe it as small. The fries were crispy, and the sauces were superb.
As for the Carne Asada Fries, they were decent, though not as impressive as some other places, but there was nothing inherently wrong with them.
The overall experience at the restaurant was excellent too. If you choose to dine in, they actually bring your order to your table, and they accept all major credit cards (I personally used AMEX for payment).
My recent visit to Valentine's Mexican Food was a flavorful excursion into Mexican cuisine, showcasing some traditional favorites.
The restaurant's cozy and welcoming atmosphere instantly transported me to the heart of Mexico, setting the stage for an authentic dining experience.
To begin, I sampled the salsa, and it was a delightful burst of flavors. It had just the right amount of heat, and the fresh ingredients made it a perfect accompaniment to the meal.
Next, I tried the menudo, a classic Mexican dish. It was rich, savory, and soul-warming. The tender pieces of meat and hearty broth were seasoned to perfection, making it a comforting and satisfying choice.
Valentine's Mexican Food's commitment to traditional flavors and quality ingredients shone through, and the attentive service added to the overall positive experience. Whether you're a fan of spicy salsa or looking for a taste of authentic Mexican comfort food like menudo, Valentine's is a great choice for a flavorful meal. I'm already looking forward to returning to savor more of their delicious offerings!
Good Mexican spot! Seating inside and out, and the food comes out quickly. I had the surf and turf burrito and was very happy with it. Also like that the sauces are available to grab yourself. The quality of meat is better than many other Mexican joints which is nice too.
The Cali Burrito was great! Extremely great tasting and hot; not as high as I'd like but wouldn't call it small. Crispy fries and the sauces they had were excellent.
Carne Asada Fries were alright, not as good as some other places but nothing was wrong with them.
Restaurant was great as well; if you order in they actually bring the order to you and they accept all the major credit cards (I paid using AMEX).
I like the rolled tacos here! I've had numerous types and all are great.
Burritos are well done too. My Carne Asada burrito was yummy!
Salad bar has 6+ salsa / sauces..all tasty. Pickled carrots/ onions / jalepenos/ garlic is delicious too!
Chips made in house and deep fried battered jalapenos were a nice touch!
Service was good both times I went.
Washroom is way in the back thru the kitchen.
