Review Jeongwon Korean Bbq Buffet - San Diego

Jeong Won BBQ definitely is one of the best Korean Barbecue in San Diego. Located in an Asian area in the north of San Diego - Convoy Street, this place offers amazing food and a high service quality. I have been to many famous Korean BBQ restaurants around the city but I believe this one is one of the best. Here's the 8 reasons why: 1- Buffet service - You take whatever you want as much as you want - Also you can see that the food is all fresh! 2- Service - The staff, especially an Asian lady that unfortunately I don't know her name, was so so sweet and kind with all guests 3- Not too busy - Very easy to walk around the restaurant (I was there in the evening - around 6 pm) 4- The environment is a very authentic Asian place. Full of Asian decorations and the songs in the background make the place even more oriental and peaceful 5- Fair price! It's worth paying every single penny 6- You can create your own dishes - Since you have a fire spot in the middle of the table, that allows you to create any dish you want. There are a vast meat and vegetables options 7- Well located - It is easy to find it. 8-Clean Space! Anyway, I highly recommend this place for those who love to eat a lot of good food with a fair price and a nice environment. It is good for carnivorous and also vegetarians!

WOW! We are visiting from out of town and where not expecting much. Front of shop is simple and unsuspecting of anything amazing. However we found out ‘off the Beaten path’ Korean BBQ place. Staff was very friendly. Environment was great. Pricing was on point. Food was fresh. Not much can be expected. We will return as often as possible. 🍖 🍣 🍤

EXCELLENT KOREAN BBQ, self-service style makes it even more enjoyable. The lady maitre’d is very welcoming. There’s a surprisingly large selections of items for on-table grilling: meats, fish/shellfish, vegetables. The most unexpected 😎are the slices of wagyu (yes no kidding!). There’s also a good selection of Korean salads, I’m partial to the seaweed, yuchae and pickled bean sprouts 😋😋 There’s a small but good selection of Banchan. I love the Japchae, Korean sliced omelette sauté, and veggie pancakes. Hot soup and hot tea are also on offer. Oh, there’s also a sauce counter, sample whichever you desire. I like very much the wasabi sauce: No it’s not the Japanese horseradish sushi sauce but has the milder, more fluid white sauce with that distinctive Korean slightly sweet oyster sauce flavor. It’s located in a strip mall, lovely interior ambiance but I can imagine it could be tight on busy evening. I recommend brunch on a weekday.

Ignore the bad reviews, those people are either competitors or just don't know about good eats! Loved every single bite! The meat was fresh and stayed full. The banchans had a variety and were fresh as well. They also have plenty of dipping/cooking sauces. The staff was super friendly and attentive and the music... loved!!

I'm from VA and this is my first time back in SD in 10 years, decided to try something new and was not disappointed. 40$ gives you access to the entire menu. Granted, it's self-serve and can be a little backed up during busy times, but the line moves quickly, and you can pace yourself while you eat. The meats were delicious, and the mussels tasted a little salty but not bad. Recommend making sure you cook different meats separately from each other to avoid cross contamination. If you get sick, that's your fault. The additions were also delicious with plenty of sauces to create a wonderful meal. I was stuffed completely. The experience is fun for everyone, and as you can tell in my pictures, plenty of people thought so too. It's worth every penny and would very much recommend.

Great food. The staff here are all so kind and helpful. It's super fun to bbq your own food and it kept the family entertained the entire time. They have enough options that even our pickiest kid was happy and we all left very full. We def will come back.

Probably my favorite KBBQ place. Buffet style so you can go and get your own items in your own amount. You can also cook at your own pace since you get your own food. Soda IS included but they don't offer alcohol just in case you were wondering. Free drink is unheard of!

My husband and I went on a Tuesday around 12. The gentlemen showed us how everything worked since it was our first time there. He was super courteous and checked on my husband and myself a lot making sure that everything was good. The meat and seafood were super fresh and the banchan were perfect.

This place is always a family winner. My daughter wanted to come here before returning to school/university. This is delectable comfort food. The staff is welcoming and offered to replace our grills multiple times. Jeong Won is a much better choice than the larger, Korean BBQ chain restaurants. This place remains an Aldridge family favorite 😍

The food here is amazing! First of all the selection has plenty of variety from wagu meats, spicy pork and chicken, marinated squid and even fish. They have a bar in which you can pick your meats and cold dishes like potato salad and kimchi. They also have steamed eggs, dumplings and noodle dishes they are inculded in the bbq. They have another table full of sauces. They also serve youmiso soup and savory Korean pancake when you arrive at your table.

I randomly walked in this place without reading any reviews. We had no idea what we were supposed to do (no signs) and were just waiting for menus. The server let us know how annoying we were for not knowing what to do. Feeling embarassed we go get our food to grill ourselves, self serve buffet. We asked how often people dont know what to do an he said 1/3 of the people who walk in dont know what to do.... anyways we finish our food and are fidgeting around, not wanting to embarrass myself again I awkwardly look around where to pay, there is no register up front and we already did a big no no like 1/3 of their other customers by not knowing what we were doing. eventually the server realizes we want to leave and brings us our check. $100 for two with minimal service... more of a place where you eat a bunch of meat otherwise not worth it. Very small buffet, limited menu, $35 a person.

Been a while since I have been here, but coming back has reminded me why I like this place. All you can eat Korean BBQ, but more buffet style. So you go to the buffet and choose whatever you like, in the portions you like. Great meat selection, wide variety of vegetables, and sides. They even have a separate sauce bar! I really do prefer this style of AYCE KBBQ, kudos they are doing it right. Arrived at 11:55am for lunch on a Friday, and there was plenty of seats, but it just about filled up over the next half hour. Service was ok as they appeared to be understaffed, our waiter was friendly and doing his best to help us - so I definitely appreciated that! Luckily you really only need help for water refills, or grill change requests. Parking lot was full and had to park a block away.

Slowly getting more expensive. Couple months ago $30 per person. $35 now. Free for 5yr and under. Free self serve soda. NO reservations. Super busy @night(not nearly as much midday). NO military discounts

Awesome hole in the wall KBBQ. The service was so good and friendly, the food is incredible, and the environment is so fun! This is the 'if you know you know' KBBQ spot. The owner is so kind and friendly and the place is no nonsense. It is about the food! 10/10, my favorite spot. Went last night for my birthday and will be back again and again!! <3
