My favorite sushi place in the SD area. Qualitywise on level with the best of the best (my reference is Sushi Ota) but much less crowded. Kudos to Roger-San!
Amazing adventurous sushi served by a joyful talented team. You pay a premium and worth every cent. Sometimes i just left them surprise me, deliciously taking me out of my comfort zone. Arigato!
Walked in last minute after a show across the street, Service was quick and the food was delicious I noticed the rolls here are fairly large although I ordered omakase sashimi, nigiri & temaki (hand roll).
Hane Sushi is delicious. We went here last night for dinner and had AMAZING service and food. The sushi came out quickly and while we waited we had some tasty smooth unfiltered sake and appetizers. The best sushi 🍣 roll of the night was easily the Ceviche Roll which I highly recommend you try. You can also order the stuffed tomato! I can't wait to come back here with my wife and eat here again since we had a fantastic time.
Located just a block west of Balboa Park, Hane sushi 🍣 is one of the tastiest and most creative sushi menus in San Diego. Haven’t even come close to tasting all the rolls. But just means I need to go back to try more:)
I’ve been here a few times before but this was my first time seating at the sushi counter. It was a completely different and more personal experience. I ordered the nigiri omakase and it was quite filling. The chef made every nigiri right in front of me, which I greatly appreciated. The quality of the fish was superb. This was elevated by his mixture of toppings. They were always simple toppings that complemented the fish but didn’t overpower it. I recommend this place for any sushi lover out there.
Impromptu stop in for some sushi and I was very impressed! Clean and fresh sushi with quality ingredients. Nice light lunch for two, we had shrimp tempura, spicy tuna roll, California roll (with real crab not imitation) and caterpillar roll. All equally good. Their spicy mayo is also very nice with a mild, clean flavor (not processed or mass produced stuff)
Japanese sushi done the right way, chef lineage of Ota. No comparisons, the best.
Spectacular sushi! One of the best places to eat sushi in San Diego, and probably in California.
Their hostess is the worst, she is a rude angry person. But don’t let her ruin your experience!
Make sure to order fresh wasabi, toro-special nigiri, salmon tostadas and the sea-urchin nigiri! Also take a look at their daily specials, we got lucky with a big and fresh soft shell crab!
We sat by the bar, and Mr Taka was our sushi chef. Loved the experience!!
Loud and lively at lunch time. Reservations probably a good idea but there were seats. Ambiance is ok, but definitely loud. Sushi is pretty solid. Had some nigiri and a roll. Try the golden eye snapper, uni and the toro. Rolls are good but a bit on the large side circumference wise. Friendly chefs but a bit understaffed at the moment when it comes to waiters. Forgivable at lunch but might be a problem at dinner. One of our favorite sushi spots in town.
Hane sushi is great for family meals or going solo, the food here is amazing, the service is great and the staff is really friendly. When me and my sister walk in we just feel welcome, especially when we are hungry.😂 what i usually eat is the: miso soup, miso sea bass, salmon belly nigiri and the avocado maki
Great sushi restaurant! Sea urchin and Toro were breathtaking! Sushi quality was phenomenal! Highly recommended!
