One of the best, most authentic restaurants experiences I’ve ever had in my almost 18 years here in San Diego. You know how there are times when you want to eat your meal in peace and don’t want the owners/chefs stopping by to give you their two cents or tell you story after story? Well here, I could sit for hours listening to stories of history or get advice on why I ordered too much spinach and cheese dishes (even though we all know that’s not physically possible). You feel like you’re stepping into someone’s Lebanese household, that’s the vibe you feel immersed in. The food was delicious. The dessert was out of this world. I’d come back here again and again…damn, I’d live here!!

Entering Alforon means you're taking the express elevator to the Levant. Redolent in the herbs and spices of their land and neighbors, the dialects of Arab, and the peoples dining there, you're truly transported to a new land. The food is another level of experience altogether. We had the Melt-in-your-mouth okra with meat (lamb and beef) and the Lebanese salad. There's so much else to try, we're definitely returning. And the owners and staff are just the best!!

I’m glad that i passed by this place during my visit to San Diego. They have the best customer service “wait time is no problem with such nice Lebanese humor”. The food is amazing and its authentic, the desert is delicious and the Tea is great!! This place will be my first stop every-time i visit San Diego.

We were brought here because of triple D. We thought the food was so good. We also tan assortment and we also got dessert. Everything was GOOD. Very enjoyable experience. There is a wait for service since there are not many servers. Cool atmosphere.

We ordered through Doordash and ended up getting the Chicken Tawook, the Cheese Ba Jeen, the Falafel Ba Jeen, and the aaysh essaraya dessert. The Chicken Tawook was absolutely delicious. We added jalapeños as an add on which gave a lovely amount of heat to the dish, highly recommend. The Cheese Ba Jeen really balanced out the Falafel and Chicken Tawook dishes with a creamy crumbly cheese that had a nice hint of Zaatar without being too overpowering. The Falafel Bajeen came loaded with lettuce and pickled beets with tomatoes on top of the falafel. The flavor was lovely; savory without being salty and a hint of sweetness from the tomatoes. The aaysh essaraya dessert was my favorite part. From the pistachio crumble, to the custard and cake layer with hints of rose water! First time getting food from this place and it all was amazing!

I was first recommended to Alforon by a very friendly Lebanese employee at a museum in Balboa Park. We got to know him a bit and asked him what was his favorite Lebanese restaurant in town. He told us Alforon! His comments were that the food was the freshest and not greasy, like some others can be. It was only after I Googled Alforon did I see the mention of their appearance on Triple-D on The Food Network! I wanted to bring my Dad to something different that wouldn't disappoint, so I knew this was the place. I'm also a cook, specializing in spicy and ethnic foods, so I enjoy looking up the best and unique restaurants like Alforon. After we were seated, George, the owner/chef came over to greet us. I told him I was a cook and was interested how the Ouzi lamb, featured on triple-D on Food Network was made. After George teased me a bit that it was top secret and I would have to apply for a job to find out (Ha!), he told me the full recipe is posted on Food Network. I love his sense of humor :) Several minutes later, he came out and surprised me with a quick visit to his kitchen to see how the Ouzi lamb was made. What a treat! The photo attached shows how he pours vinegar over the lamb, to seal in the juices. It really was a treat to be shown by an established chef, such as George how he creates a bit of the magic. The food truly is all very good. I do suggest the Ouzi lamb and whatever George or his lovely wife suggest for you. They're not only friendly, but very passionate about their cuisine. That's becoming a rare thing nowadays, so I thank them for that. Life is too short to waste on medicore food - Try Alforon for the real deal. Thanks again, George - For the great experience and the quick tour of your kitchen! We will be back often. ~Scott

Finally went after years of driving by and regret we waited so long. it was fantastic. The service even better as the owners were delightful people that were our type of joy and spunk that kept us laughing. Two of their dishes have been on the food network and dinners, drive-ins, and dives which you can tell because you taste the pride. The serve the only beer brewed in the Middle East which is a tasty lager. The wine was a heavy poor. Can’t wait to go back.
