The only thing I can complain about is that the service was too good. I came when it was slow, I can imagine it might be frustrating when things are busy. Definitely worth a visit!
I like it. Pretty good burger and fries plus the staff was pretty nice and it was clean.
The service was so friendly! The staff welcomed us and thanked us for coming in. We ordered the Caliente Burger and the Chicken Sandwich. Our food was fresh and served in big portions! They didn't put sauce on the Chicken Sandwich which allows you to dress it up as you like. I asked for ranch dressing and put some on the chicken sandwich and it was good! The fries were especially amazing.
The place was a favorite from the word go. Such a hidden gem. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The owner and staff were super helpful and so kind not only to me but to everyone. You can tell they really love their customers! I got a custom shake that was Amazing! It tasted just like a Girl Scout cookie. I ordered the Caliente Burger with 1/2 fries, 1/2 onion rings, so so good, but the homemade chipotle sauce and ranch were Awesome! My daughter ordered the Western and it came with 3 large onion rings!! This has been the friendliest and most surprising experience so far in San Diego!! Highly Recommend!!
every single food i’ve had here SLAPS and the shop is such a fun vibe. they also have hands down the best service i’ve ever experienced at a restaurant (all 5 times i’ve been!) — they really know how to make customers feel welcome and cared for.
the zucchini sticks, fries, and onion rings are always perfectly crispy and never greasy. their ranch? next level. chili dogs? HUGE and well dressed.
i always get a scoop of ice cream because how could you ignore the ice cream counter up front?? and they always ask me if i want it now or later - which yes, a fat scoop or shake is the perfect appetizer 😊
i haven’t even tried their burgers yet because i’m too obsessed with everything else on the menu and my tummy is only so big. ILY midway ❤️
This is a cute little place with a terrific staff and a cozy atmosphere. The owner is amazing. He is very attentive and kind; you can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and loves what he does. The food was excellent, the best Western burger I've ever had. I would definitely return. All-around a great place to stop in, you won't be disappointed.
The food is great. Service is amazing. The customer service level that this place has is what every business should strive to emulate. Do your taste buds a favor and get "the All American" burger. 🍔

Update (June 2, 2023), Went back for a 3rd and still the consistent. $11 for cheeseburger with fries. Back in SD for a few days and returned to Midway for a second time. 5-Stars for consistent burger, fries and attentive service. For $11, (with cheese), with crunchy fries, it’s hard to beat. There is In N Out, but the it’s a smaller burger, inconsistent service and long crazy lines.
I can’t say enough great things about this place. We just moved here (military) and we were tired from unpacking and yelped a family friendly burger place and found this gem. The service was phenomenal, they treat you like family and make you feel so welcome. Now to the food… it’s just soooo good 🔥 they got everything right. The ranch the chipotle mayo the perfectly cooked fries.. they offer lettuce wraps vs buns for gluten sensitive people like me 😭 if you haven’t check them out!

Had a awesome time at this classic malt shop! Reviews were a little unbelievable so we decided to give it a try. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by the nicest man. We figured by his customer service he must be the owner, but we found out everyone there treats you that well. We ordered the True Blue Burger with fries, Chili cheese dog, chocolate malt and Coke. Everything was made to order. The burger was cooked medium-rare as ordered and they got it right, the Blue cheese and bacon were an excellent touch. The shake was so thick we had to give it a moment by itself and the house-made ranch was a great companion to the hand-cut fries. The Chili cheese dog was hiding in a foil tent and when I saw all the Chili and cheese that went on that 1/4 lb dog I was quite happy. Most places put a taste of their Chili and touch of cheese, Midway gives you a serving of each. Everything was clean and there was plenty of seating inside and out. I can't stress enough how nice everyone we talked to was, they genuinely like their customers.
My only complaint: There was so much Chili and cheese on the dog that it wasn't finger food, the plastic knife the gave me couldn't cut the steamed bun, it was too thin and kept folding over. Eventually I had to pick the dog up. Next time I will bring one of the disposable knives my wife keeps in her car.
