A small well crafted menu. I ordered the grilled wild Salmon, with Spinach mashed potatoes and asparagus. I can't say the spinach added much to the potatoes other than making them green. The fish was cooked to perfection and very tender. With just a hint of lemon. The prices are rather high and the wait time was long but the quality justified the wait. It's difficult to put out this quality of food fast.
Casey was our bartender and made us amazing cocktails. We got the Jaded Lady and a spiderman drink he made for comicon. The duck tacos were to die for. Location was an easy walk from the train station as well.
This is a block or so away from the San Diego Superior Courthouse so if you have jury duty, this may be an option for lunch. I was immediately helped by three helpful, handsome men including a friendly, attentive Brazillian named Luis. I tried the French Onion Soup and coffee. I liked it although I wish they had a choice of another soup. I was so full, I didn't get to try the wings or brussel sprouts this time! I was a fan of the atmosphere but not so much the music.
I'd like to try the absinthe some evening. It sounds like fun!
The Benedict had Rave reviews but I just had a mimosa and croissant sandwich, with ham. It was good but nothing special. Good option for brunch though.
I don't butter it up, at night the service is slow but the food is really good I promise. And breakfast will see .
Great food and nice atmosphere. The chef here is amazing.
I discovered last week that The Beer Co has closed, and with it their amazing happy hour ahi tower. I was looking for an alternative happy hour downtown that went until 7pm and I discovered Currant.
The style of the restaurant is very cool. Black and white tile floor, classy design, friendly service. Unfortunately, the coolness factor was a bit diminished by a number of cheesy Halloween decorations strewn about.
Tried the Manhattan and happy hour red wine. Both very nice. Also tried baked brie and tacos. Both very decent happy hour choices. Not an excellent deal, but very doable.
Loved the atmosphere, will likely be back for drinks and maybe to try that hamburger on happy hour!
I had lunch here during a conference break. It was a little slow for what I needed but would be great for a business lunch since it is quiet and no one is rushing you out the door. Not a wide vegetarian selection but the Tomato Bisque is vegetarian and VERY good. The Grilled cheese isn't anything special but it was also good and the shoestring fries were a bonus. I also ordered the Lavender Lemonade which I was really excited about. Sadly I could not taste the lavender (I love flower flavors). The drink is $4 which wasn't worth it in my book. Outdoor seating is small but a really nice bonus.

What a great location! The bartenders are splendid and the staff are wonderful. Happy hour every day of the week with a great selection and fabulous choices. My only issue is that twice that I went to have drinks with friends there have been some obnoxious drunk men there, my guess is that they wander in from the hotel area, and are served drinks...I understand that the bartenders don't realize how intoxicated they were before serving them, but they are not pleasant to sit next to. Honestly, this wouldn't stop me from going back, but is just the reason I gave them 4 starts instead of 5.
I really enjoy this place! I've only come here a couple times during happy hour before spending the night downtown. Both times, I was impressed. The restaurant is on the bottom floor of the Sofia Hotel, next to Tender Greens. They have a great list of cocktails, and their sliders were great! Will definitely be coming more often in future!
