After reading the mixed reviews I felt compelled to try Baci for myself. We were greeting immediately at the door with a warm and firiendly hello by Mr D'mato seated immediately the staff was very friendly and professional we ordered appetizers which were superb-ordered our entrees that Im my humble opinion were top notch 5 star quality. Afterwards we had dessert and coffee. This place is most definitely fine dining 5 star in presentation and taste- Kudos to this family-owned business a must for any one that appreciates fine Italian cuisine ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Everyone raves about the dishes they ordered & I had the Osso Buco that was the best I’ve ever had. Everything from the cocktails to the desserts were perfection. But the service was truly amazing! My cousin asked for an obscure beer & our waiter went to a bar next door to get it!! That’s what I call top service. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego!!
This is the real deal. Authentic Italian great service well worth the $$$$. Our server was knowledgeable and we went with most of his suggestions. We were not disappointed. I have only one thing to say about the food, Osso Buco, and a nice Chianti.
Wonderful place, great decor. Had the sea urchin appetizer; it as fantastic.
I skipped the salads as I saw nice size portions floating around.
For my entrée, I had the tomahawk porkchop with black truffle shavings. It was to die for.

Solid Quality. We visited Baci based on the review on San Diego Restaurants.com and had a lovely time. The quality of the food was excellent, and we were quite pleased with the attentiveness of our server.
We were early, but were seated immediately when we arrived. The bread was hot and fresh, wine was served quickly, and the waiter provided us with mouth-watering descriptions of the specials.
Since we were visiting from out of town, I told the waiter we only had one shot at trying the restaurant, so I needed his recommendations. We ended up with buffalo mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto on a bed of greens and beets, the swordfish 'chef's specialty', a lamb chop with roasted garlic, and gelato for desert. I couldn't have been happier.
I almost never order swordfish due to it's tendency to get tough after being transported cross country. This local swordfish steak was delicate in flavor and texture, had a light but flavorful sauce, and I left nothing on the plate. My mother's lamb chop was cooked perfectly. It was textbook - a beautiful medium rare which had been allowed to rest properly, so the juices were held within the meat instead of bleeding all over the plate. The roasted garlic was complimentary to the meat and cooked to almost butter-like consistency.
Gelato for desert finished the meal off lightly - I wanted to try the other deserts, but was too full at that point. The espresso topped vanilla gelato would be a weekly treat for me if I lived here though, and is absolutely worth a try. If I ever return to San Diego, I will be coming back to Baci.

The service was exceptional. Must ask for Sal. The food was extrodinare. Fresh, nicely prepared and well presented. The specials were special. They also accomidated my special requests. Definetly my new favorite local restaurant in San Diego.

AMAZING NEIGHBORHOOD DELIGHT!. "Went there for the first time recently and was extraordinarily impressed. Pulling up it seemed like an old-style family restaurant, which we found to be awesome. As we walked in our suspicions were confirmed, this place is a hidden gem. Great ambiance, perfect decor, authentic waiters and waitresses, and an amazing outdoor courtyard area. We were not able to eat out there but are looking forward to having the opportunity.
We started with the Caprese appetizer and it was stellar. The tomatoes were big and very fresh and the mozzarella was just perfect. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
It was very difficult to choose an entree as all the choices looked so good. They have a great selection of chicken, seafood, and especially veal. I went with the Scampi Fradiavolo and the girlfriend got Linguine Pescatora. Upon receiving our dinners we were both in love with each others and quickly traded. The Linguine Pescatora came with every kind of seafood you could imagine and was large and delicious. The scampi had delicious shrimp and had a wonderful spicy marinara sauce. This sauce came in handy when we dipped the complimentary garlic bread in the remains.
Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience and would definitely go again. However, it is a little pricy with the meals ranging from 17 - 25. Ours were each around 25. They also have a nice wine list but it is similarly expensive, especially the $1800 bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon (have to get that one in my next life). All of this was worth it and we cannot wait to go back.

I had a great time at Baci last night. The service was impeccable and our waiter was very friendly and funny. The food was top notch—maybe not the best meal I’ve ever had or anything, but certainly a very good meal at a fair price.
The pollo toscano was delectable—extremely juicy with a very tasty sauce. The carrots were cooked beautifully. The prosciutto-wrapped burrata was really nice too, I loved how it was placed on a thick slice of golden beet. I loved the capricciosa salad as well, especially the caramelized walnuts and goat cheese.
I definitely recommend this spot for celebrations or a special date. It could be very romantic with the right person or very fun with a group of friends. Nice atmosphere and lighting, pretty comfortable seating as well. Come by and try it out!
Came here for a work dinner. We were seated outside where a TV was set up for presentation. Food was fantastic. Great place for date night also. Tiramitsu is a MUST.
This is the most authentic Italian experience in San Diego thus far. From the menu organization to the accents, good food, and wine options available this is as good as it gets. Complements to the chef and managers. The reason it is four stars for me is not the food but the service, we waited for over 30 minutes to be seated at a table we had a reservation for, it took me going and asking a few times to make sure they remembered we were there as they were sitting other guests. Once sat (in the far corner) in an Italian place you can expect slow service, however our server was cold to us when he was there and smug, he spent time laughing and talking to a larger party right next to us that was older, I’m not sure if he got along better with them due to age or if he was anticipating a large tip from them and not us, either way we tipped above 20% and enjoyed the food and some wine!

The food here is always amazing. Everything on the menu comes out delicious. The wait staff is so attentive and nice. We really enjoy dining here! It’s one of the few places left with such old school elegance. Highly recommend!
Only for people who like excellent food, great wine and drinks, and awesome service. A true taste of Italy, from the atmosphere to amazing pastas to the waiters, who can tell you every ingredient in every dish. Worth the price. We will be back.
