Mister A's

This is a restaurant where the view is fantastic. The service is amazing as well. The food quality is much lower than other premium restaurants in the area. If they improved the food quality, I believe that they would earn a solid all around 5 stars. I ordered the beef choice that was not a steak and it was dry and poorly done. The Truffle Mac and cheese was amazing. If it was not for the fabulous decor and view, it would be not be a fabulous place. I would bring in a new chef and concentrate on food quality!!

Celebrating my birthday at Mister A’s was an exceptional experience, marked by both culinary excellence and outstanding service. They were not only friendly and engaging, making our group feel genuinely welcome, but also highly knowledgeable about the menu, offering insightful recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. Their attention to detail and ability to anticipate our needs without being intrusive contributed significantly to the comfortable and sophisticated atmosphere. Mister A’s stands out as a venue where culinary expertise and heartfelt hospitality are seamlessly intertwined, making it an ideal destination for special occasions or anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. The combination of exquisite food, professional service, and a welcoming ambiance makes Mister A’s a must-visit restaurant.

After a late afternoon elopement at the SD County building, our small party of 4 celebrated with a dinner at Mr A’s. From the moment we arrived the service was impeccable. As we were early for our reservation, drinks at the bar were a welcomed offer. Next we took some photos out on the patio with some of the best views of SD. Once our table was ready we were looked after by Robert (i hope that’s right?) and treated to the best food and service I have ever experienced. The wine pairings, the scallops, the desert, attention to detail, the staff, all made our wedding day perfect! Thank you for making our experience one we will never forget! Jack & Theadora

Mister A’s is such a lovely experience. From the ambiance, the food, the service, the live music, and the views of the city you truly get the best coming here. The area we sat in is considered the bar area where you don’t need reservations for but you still have the option to sit at a table. I think it’s better to just do that since you get entertainment along with it. The food was exceptional especially the Dover sole. I would definitely come back next time I’m in town.

The service was amazing from the minute we had walked into the restaurant. The outside seating is an absolutely beautiful view of down town San Diego along with a beautiful sun set. The mushroom soup I enjoyed, I have never tried mushroom soup and this one definitely made my experience a good one. From our dinner of getting a steak along with the macaroni and cheese along with mash potatoes was very delicious. I absolutely recommend this place for an anniversary or possibly for engagement because of the view. I definitely will be returning. Thank you to our waiter he had went up and beyond, making it an enjoyable experience.

A restaurant with a view! Uniquely situated near the airport so that patrons can see airliners arriving at eye level as they land on the nearby runway. The restaurant also has unobstructed views of downtown San Diego, which makes getting a reservation outdoors a must-do. The food is also very fresh and made with local ingredients. The portion sizes are also generous for a fine dining establishment. My only complaint is that although the restaurant had options for vegetarians, they were not too accommodating in making simple alterations on certain dishes because, according to our server, "the chef prefers not to as it wouldn't suit the dish". A slightly snobby sentiment, but we still enjoyed our evening overall.

This was an amazing experience. From the rooftop view to the food to the service. We had the best time and tried all the wonderful foods and accoutrements. Recommend the duck, lobster, and mac & cheese. Wine and champagne were great. Definitely get the Sorbet and the Peach Melba dessert. We wished we also had the Ganache but we were too full to get another. Bathrooms are wallpapered on the ceiling and the lighting is great. 9/10 would pee here again.

I'll start by saying that every positive comment you read in reviews for Mister A's is true! This was hands-down an amazing dining experience. This restaurant is second to none. Our visit began with a warm welcome as we exited the elevator, then we were seated immediately at one of their corner outside tables overlooking downtown and the bay. The view is stunning to say the least. Wine is served by the glass or bottle with an extensive selection. The menu has a wide variety of food choices suitable for different palates. We ordered a prawn appetizer and The Little Gem Caesar salad (perfection!) to start. Our main dishes were the lobster special and the sole - both were distinctive and very tasty, melting in your mouth with every bite. Desert selection was indulgent as it should be. Overall, the food is excellent and the attention to detail is above average - our waitress was very kind and accommodating. Overall, Mister A's was everything I expected it would be ... and more!
