We put off a visit to this popular spot for a long time because of the noise coming from inside--and even from the patio--as we walked past. When we finally tried it for dinner, we found the noise deafening (both music and conversation), as expected. (The patio is a little less noisy than inside.) The service was very friendly and fast. Sadly, the food was mediocre. Being so close to the border, San Diego should offer countless opportunities for excellent Mexican food, but this isn't true, in our experience. Standards and expectations seem to be higher in Phoenix and New Mexico (Santa Fe, Albuquerque) than in San Diego. At Baja Betty's, the food is average American-Mexican fare, at best.

If you are looking for the chillest, friendliest, fun loving atmosphere with bomb food for great prices this is your place! Felt right at home when greeted at the door and the waiter made us feel like we were dining with friends!

If I could rate this restaurant higher than the 5, I would do that. We were directed to the restaurant by a local person in San Diego and the restaurant turned out to be a great find. The food choice is wide and was absolutely delicious. The ambience was great.
Was in town for a weekend and thought we would try it based on reviews. They did not dissappoint us as service was great along with the food.

Super fun place and super good food! Drinks are great, service is awesome! We tried the bacon wrapped jalapeños and they were cooked perfectly. Queso is yummy, guacamole is even better. Now for the food, the long and skinny burrito is as big as a mans forearm no joke. Share it with two people!

Will be a favorite spot for us.... Been here twice and was great both times. Happy hour apps are really affordable and beers are good as well. Wait staff very friendly and fast.

Omg! This place is awesome! I'm not a huge Mexican food fan and I tried everything at the buffet...well almost everything. Everything I tried was AWESOME. If your foodie or you love a fun atmosphere you gotta come here! If your are boring and don't like to eat or try things....there is a McDonald across the street!
I been going there since it been open. Food is great.the nachosare my favorite. Barteners can really make a drink. Can be a little lould that is because people are having fun
The atmosphere is really relaxed but fun. My food and margarita were great, and my server Heather was really friendly too. Food seems a little expensive but if you go during one of their happy hours, it's more reasonable. Definitely recommend.
Well this is the last restaurant we tried for this trip and it didn’t disappoint. We made it for Happy Hour and they had great prices on both margaritas and street tacos. The waiter was super helpful and great. The food was excellent. We will return.
Came here after a nice walk at the farmers market. I had such a wonderful experience!! Fantastic tacos. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Dog-loving customers. Why would I want to be anywhere else? I haven't had such delicious tacos with fresh cilantro, scrumptious chicken, and flavorful onion for a long time.
We happened upon Baja Betty’s while on vacation. My husband and I loved the atmosphere, appetizers and the servers so much that we made sure we visited once more before we left. Wish there was a Baja Betty’s in Florida! Thank you, Andy (1st visit) and thank you David (2nd visit) !

Found this place by searching for Mexican food near me. We were greeted before even stepping in. It's such a fun, welcoming atmosphere, and I noticed that all the employees worked together as a team helping each other out and thought that was pretty cool. The food and drinks were sooooo good, not a single complaint. The price was decent as well. I can honestly say I have absolutely nothing but good to say about this place!! We will be back next time we're in town. Thank you all you Bettys!
